I have been away a long time now, about 6 months. I left because it took too much of my time and it was nearly impossible to get anything done.

Gilsellers dominated the market meaning only people who baught it made any real progress.

Now its been released on the Xbox, I was thinking I could play on that while my bro plays on the PC, we play together, could be fun.

I currently play WoW and really enjoying it, but there is also that little something inside that always wants me to go back to FFXI and get to 75 which I never managed to do before.

I remember logging in about 5 months ago to check auction house prices and I thought it was rediuclous, also I did a /sea all in prime time and only got about 2k members online, when I first signed up you could get easily 4-5k people.

So yea... Basicly has anything changed?

5 Months ago was right during the AH Holiday price hike. SE removed a ton of gil from the game by nailing alot of the gilsellers characters, they removed something around 400 Billion. During the holidays, Cassie earrings were around 10 million, I just bought one for 4.2 the other week. Prices have definitely fallen. Even the mighty Scorpion Harness and Vermy cloak have fallen back to their original 7.8 - 8.2 range.

And, as expected, the influx of new and more people have lowered the prices as well.

Crafters are having a field day with the drop in crystal and materials prices. Fire crystals are down to 2.8k/stk last I checked, and silk thread had fallen through the floor.

With everyone making new friends and the excitement over the expansion, this is a fun time in Vana'diel.

Laago! How you been buddy? Yes things have changed a lot. As others have mentioned prices have fallen, drastically in some cases. Around the holiday I could sell darksteel ore and gold ore for 75k and 45k respectively. Last I checked it was 40k and 20k. Not great for me, but good for the server economy I guess. Not to mention that I just checked last night and earth crystals were down to 500 per stack. They never really got that high, around 2-3k at the most, but I haven't seen prices this low since back in early 2004! If you'd like to come back that would be awesome, but at any rate, take care. :)

P.S.- check it out i've leveled a little lol ;D

/welcome back in advance, and yeah, prices have actually fallen a lot - crystals are coming back down to the prices they were when I started over two years ago! <.<;

And on a side note:

Absolutely untrue. I didn't buy gil, and yet, I came out of the rush better off than I did before it. More levels, and more gil because everything went up, not only high-ticket items, so it was proportional. Anyone who bought gil then was stupid to do so (well, more so than gilbuyers already are, anyway).

That's all... but over all of that, it comes down to, yes. Prices have fallen. And WB!
