Hi everyone. I was wondering if the alla community would be able to help me out. I am looking for the latest ToD on Charby so that I might try to get Joyeuse over the next couple days. Being an extreamly casual gamer has put a major cramp on this and I would be really grateful to anyone that could at least point me in the right direction.

It is my understanding that his ToD is not as tightly guarded as other NM's, if I am mistaken in that please ignore my request.

ToD is not really needed for this NM, as it is a lottery pop that is quite rarely camped. You can pretty much assume that it can pop anytime when you go camp it especially during the weekdays (assuming you play evenings).
Weekends are more trickier, because there is more likely someone will camp it.
If I am free, I can come help camp. I want to farm some Kindred Seals too ;).

One more thing... This NM is famous to be very difficult to tank without a blink tank -- Not sure if it can be Gravity and then kited with a Paladin, never tried that. @_@

Wow, thanks for the reply and the offer. I was under the impression the window was every 21 hrs so I was hoping to find out if it was worth my time to try and camp this afternoon, or if I should xp since today I am lucky and will have a 4 hrs to play. (Usually I get about 90-120 min every other day.)
Because of the info you gave me I think I will xp tonight and use my smaller blocks of time to camp him.

Also, If you ever want to farm for seals just do a sea all Macbain or Nemith, I am a 72 rdm and my roommate Nemith is a 74 smn.. He is always up for killing placeholders to get a Joyeuse for his 75 brd. We are both best friends with that Water Elemental that pops outside the door so we don't have to worry bout him. ^^

i was told this nm is a 8hr pop on average~

I too can come either PLD75 or SAM75. /sigh my gear isn't as uber as Jon's (matter of fact I don't think any PLD's gear is), but I'm willin' to help if I got the time.

12-18 hr lotto pop. This thing is tough on pld's. Yes gravity will stick. {had to kite mine while ls members got to the room} Thf is proably the best option for tanking this thing from what I have seen. You have to kill the devil mantras that pop in the room in order for this nm to pop just fyi. Good luck, this sword owns on rdm.

12-18 hrs not right for sure, for i've seen it pop after 8 hours.

hmmm not too sure about thf tank, Thf might be good since high eva, but if thf/nin it lacks the ability to keep hate :3 so unless you with as thf/nin and just support class... or let thf/nin "solo" (if possible :O) for a long time be4 getting the DDs to engage or getting everyone to TA onto the thf (hmm not sure if that'd work either /think)...~ basically if you were to get plenty of DD and looking for a fast kill on this i'd think ninja more safe? not sure XD just a thought ^_^;

It's like a 6-12hr pop. I went and tanked at least 50% of the fight as PLD/NIN last night in DD gear. If I wasn't wearing -eva gear he woulda missed a lot more. With double Mambo and haste everything was kosher and I had a lot of fun tanking w/o voke. I produced enough hate to make the NIN's life hard XD
PLD/NIN is sexy. :P

PLD/NIN was fawking fun as hell. I didn't expect it to be. I figure if I go in all my def gear next time and not my DD gear with -eva on it, I should be able to solo tank it w/ double mambo and haste. Maybe I'll start buying/getting haste gear for my PLD, cause that was a lot of fun lol. :D

12-18 is correct since latest update. I just did this 5 camps with ls in the last 2 weeks. always spawned in the 6 hr window between 12-18 hr since tod. Thf yes solo tank. A trio of rdm "enfeeb" thf "killing" whm to "Heal". Charby used to be a 8-12 hr lotto pop back in the day. so if you got your sword long ago. you are correct. But in the now, in my own personal expereince as of 2 weeks ago 5 times it poped in the 12-18 hr window.

Yeah, I've had my Joyeuse for well over 1yr
I need to get this sword myself... then Amanada will think I'm sexy. @_@
Not to mention I've been thinking about getting this sword for awhile. It's just that I don't know too much about the NM and I don't think I know anyone who is willing to camp it with/for me.

Best advice spend an entire day down there killing or letting someone else kill this thing. I am down there a lot mainly to get away from people. Pop him get his ToD then call folks. Its a very mean fight if you are careless, but I saw JP Twilight LS Thf/Rdm/Whm trio him that week we got Pebbles sword.
I myself have been wanting to camp this for a long time. Never can find time to do that @_@, but now I have at least the much better tools to solo the lottery pop holder.

I just wanted to once again thank the community for the insight into this mob. Also, I wanted to say that last time I logged in I was just in time to see Charby die. I was down there this weekend with Sheath and we got claim....twice infact. Got new a holes each time! We had too many peeps I think, melees giving him TP. We had WHM, BLM and 2 WAR/NINS and a BRD + 3-4 other melees. We had a Ninja on the way but decided to try anyway, wiped twice. By the time our tank arrived Dynasty had claimed with 5 peeps and killed him.
So Sheath didnt get it and it has damaged the chances of me getting it in the short term.
