Simple solution for gilselling problemFollow

This is a soluton for the gilseller problem:

Why not limit the amount of gil a player can send via the delivery system. This featur alone would severely hinder gilselling operations. It would force the gilselling to take place in trade in person. This means a player would have to not only buy the gil but setup meating times to meet with the representative from the gilselling company firsthand.

This cap on the amount sent via delivery would seem like a very minor inconvinience in order to put a huge limit to the amount of gil a company could sell. I think a 500k limit on sent gil is resonable. And I also propose a limit to the max gil sent in a week to other characters. I'm looking for ppl's opinions on this.

Also I think sending gil to and from mules should be completely exempt from the cap. This is not the end all solution, jsut a great way to make it alot harder for the big company's to sell mass gil.

I think this is a pretty good idea.
The only thing it might hinder is mailing the gil after BCNM runs but you can always meet in jeuno for that.

Just want to say, this is suposed to be a small sacrifice that each player would have to make, I can cound on my hands the number of times I actually had to send someone over a million gil (other then mule) and most 9/10 times its someone I see all the time anyways, ie LS or friend where trades are just as easy.

This would prove too much of an inconveinence for some players for SE to actually imploy it.

I move millions of gil around a day and setting any type of cap would make it extremely annoying (more so to people who move even more gil).

First this cap would not apply to mule's.

Second, what do you mean you love having millions of gil around? I'm not sure how this cap of sending gil would effect you just because you have alot of gil?

If you have to give someone a TON of gil for one reason or another it will just have to take place in trade mode. I can count on my own hands the number of times this has occured where I had to send someone over a million gil. And out of these few times where sending gil was needed I could just as easily have met them to trade in person, usually I would see the needed person anyways via LS event or what not. I do have anywhere from 1~10mil at a time but would this negatively effect me? No.

In fact reducing gilselling would benefit me alot more. (less MPK's, less undercutting, less rediculous AH prices, alot less botting)

Why would it not apply to Mules?
How would Se know what characters were mules?
And do you think Gil Sellers sends gil from their mains?

Yes you're philosophy was simple but effective until you said it doesn't apply to mules. That's not something SE can know so that would be impossible. However, they would just find another way.

I thought we all learned to just more or less deal with this and get on with our lives... Oh wait... you're not even from our server. I'm not quite sure why you posted it here. If you have a suggestion, send it to SE. There's nothing we can do about it.

Before submitting a lame poorly thought out idea to the feedback forum I first wanted to get opnions from multiple servers players. I now have heard most of the arguments for and against my proposition alowing me to better represent myself.

SE does know if you are sending something to and from your mules, if you remember thier was an easter event which allowed sending of R/EX items to and from mules only. I dont' remember the exact details but trust me they already have the ability to check if your sending to a mule or not.

And yes a gilseller can still move money between mules and main's as too many ppl myself included have mules with lots a gil on em, and send around gil between em all the time.

Yeah I don't remember that either.

I can respect your interest in getting opinions from other servers it was just not received as such. Well to me anyways. Good luck with your proposal to SE.

I HIGHLY doubt that SE can distinguish the difference between Random Player A and Random Player B... so I don't see why they'd be able to distinguish Random Player A from Random Mule A vs Random Player B vs Random Mule B... A player's character is a players character. The only time POL ID's are looked at are during the communications with the Lobby Servers. IE: The game see's me as Nebz and Krem and Tearyn and Verizonguy just as it see's leetfade as Leetfade, Clifford as Clifford and Sabotender as Sabotender. I REALLY don't think SE see's them as POLID-XXXXX when in game... maybe when choosing and logging into the character, but not when accessing the delivery NPC or any other sort of trade menu. Therefore, it'd be a "Cap the limit of gil" or "Do nothing at all". Also, honestly, you're not the first person to think of this resolve. It has been proposed and rejected times before... However, don't let that discourage you... give it your best effort and see it thru... g/l, just don't hold your breathe... my CPR cert has expired. :\

It would be so nice to be able to send my unused rare/ex stuff to a mule.

When you sign up for an account, you are given a user id (ABCD1234). And from this you can buy content ID. Each is different. So I really don't see why SE would bother actually tracking transactions from character to character as they have a program that does that for them. The only reason they would personally track transactions is if they had resonable doubt to do so. Otherwise it's a waste of their time. SE can't really do anything about gilsellers or the buyers, for that matter. They have done temporary fixes, like bannings and suspensions, but more keep coming. The only control, and this is probably what SE is hoping, is from the players themselves. This has been said time and again. And no, it is not to mpk them, that will backfire on you. I know this from experience because a friend was banned for this. Players can stop buying gil. Players can team-up with friends to get a high-money drop, though greed prevents this. They can be stopped, but no one seems willing to put forth any effort in the matter. In the end, our greed and over-competitiveness allows them to win.

just a remark that making it more inconvenient to gilsell or gilbuy does not equate to stopping gilselling. and since this is not a "solution" as was initially promised, i doubt that the suggestion will meet a warm welcome by the honest gaming community.

not that the idea doesn't have value, just that gilsellers bent on gilselling and gilbuyers bent on gilbuying will definitely work with the system anyway, regardless of the inconvenience. so if it will still continue, rather than making honest players potentially unhappy (who are already unhappy with the gilsellers, but not SE per se), SE might be better off keeping things status quo and keep the "blame" directed at gilsellers only.

Important thing to remember:

It is not the game mechanics create gil buy/sell. Don't tell me because FFXI take long time to make gil and people buy, RMT is not just a FFXI thing.

It is the players and business that create RMT. The solution resides in the players and business that supports account for gil sell and farming.
