Some of you may have seen the shout last night in Lower Jeuno for the crafting/farming LS that was discussed in another thread on this forum by myself and Greedybandit. The initial response has been encouaging and we hope that more crafters and farmers across the server will unite in one location to "get stuff done"! That is what this LS is all about: Getting stuff done.

In order to aliviate any confusion, I am going to attempt to explain in detail what this is all about. If you are a crafter or farmer of any level and need a palce to acuire or sell goods at a faster pace then the AH, this LS is for you. (ex. I'm mining and getting a lot or ore I'm too high to skill up on. I don't want to drop the potential gil that is there but I have no inventory room left. My AH is full with synthed high ticket items. What do I do? I send a message across the LS. Someone is using that ore to skill on and offers to come to the mine and take it off me in exchange for a stack or 2 of pickaxes. I don't have to stop mining and he gets some skillups. Win/Win)

That is just one of the applications for this LS. Need a product for a different town? Ask the LS, someone there should help you out. As you can see the ideas behind "TheGuild" are very different from your odrinary LS. Farmers will have an outlet to unload their product at a faster pace (increasing gil/hour) and crafters will get materials faster (increasing skill/hour).

Hopefully, people will like with the way the system works and numbers will grow and prehaps in interest of moving product faster prices will drop. This LS is very informal with no direct leadership (only moderation, much like the forums here) or restrictions (everyone gets a sack). All that matters is feeding the supply and demand cycle and having a good time doing it while makeing a friend or two.

This LS is in no way ment to take the place of your mission/exp/hmnls. It's a place to go when you want to make the most of your crafting/farming time. Pop in "get stuff done" and pop out. Hopefully we can get max members and keep the "store" open all the time.

That ends my somewhat longwinded explanation of the purpose of TheGuild. I hope it interests you as much as the current members. We are giving out pearls until there aren't any left. Let us know what you think. The possibilities are endless. Thanks for reading.

Glad you asked! This LS is for everyone...in fact low mid lvl crafters will probably benefit more (because low/mid level drops are more abundant). Send me a tell and we'll hook you up with a pearl. I'm on pretty much every night after 8pm EST.

I've been in a crafting ls before and it was almost always empty when I put the pearl on. I enjoy crafting and craft a lot though and I'm willing to take a pearl. Look me up.

I'm very interested about this, infact I'd like to join up. My highest craft is Cooking at 15, and fishing is also 15. I'm always farming and I'd rather help out other people than just farm to make cash. I'm by no means rich, but if I had a reason to farm odd-ball stuff, I would.

I'll try to send you a tell Macbain to get a pearl. If not I'm on about the same time as you.

I'm sorry. But crafting linkshells doesnt work.
We have had a few, but they have all died.
Even had one over most of the servers, called HighQuality i think.
People will just equip it, ask something, then not getting an answer, because none is the craft he is asking for.
And what stops them from just checking online?

It would have to be a linkshell that you use as a main.
And there are few people that takes crafting very seriously.
It would be better if you created a Forum or BBS i think.

Good luck trying though.
Some must be the fist to succeed.

I don't use a windower, and sometimes I have questions I would like to ask, but there isn't anyone to answer atm. If it's darksday and full moon, you can bet your *** I'm not going to go offline unless I have to.

Macbain, I haven't seen you online yet, but i'll keep checking up to see if you are there.

I'm pretty sure I'll be spending most of my time with this LS on. I don't have one right now, so this will prob be my one and only for quite a while.

If we could get a few other people who craft more than they level to keep this LS as their main, I don't see how this wouldn't work. If you can get some people to be kinda like mentors, then at least there is always someone to ask the question to. If the LS isn't empty, people will continue to come on and ask questions.

Best of luck to you guys. This has the potential to be successful, but as Sabo mentioned, the downfall would lie with attendance. A lot of people are the "answer me now" type. If it is a social LS also, I think this could be very helpful for a lot of people. Best of luck to you all!

If I didn't have the obligations to my current LS, I wouldn't mind being in this LS while crafting. I'd be happy to help answer any questions someone might have though.

Here's what I have noticed. The interest is definatly there. However, for this to truly work we need at least 10-15 hardcore crafters in it.

People send me tell all the time asking about the LS. If I'm close I hook them up with a pearl sac. Because of some of the reasons listed in other postes in this thread it is a very slow process... What I need to get this thing working is other people currently in the LS to recruit crafters and farmers too. It's not hard since everyone gets a sack.

I have faith though. I know that the interest is there and that WHEN this truly takes off it wiil revolutionize the crafting industry. I need some help though. If you are interested in working towards a better way to "get stuff done" please keep posting here and look me up in game. Due to having to work all the time I am generally only on from 8-12 EST. My roomate Nemith is on more and will be able to hand out pearls tho.

I know this can work with your support.

Sounds promising.

I agree with Sabotendar a BBS would be the best way for people to keep in touch. The LS would just be more of a marketing tool.

The benefits of the forum is that all transactions can be documented rather than it turning into a "he said she said" argument.

If you plan to offer a forum where people can set up farming/crafting agreements, this could be a huge success.

I'd like to apologize to anyone looking for me last night. RL aggro'd and like any RDM it took a long time to beat it down.

I will be on tonight however, for those of you looking to get a pearl.

Sabotendar and SuiRyu, I understand what you are saying. I'll look into creating a forum so that people have another outlet. With my schedule, this might take a week or two. If anyone wants to help it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for all the input.

I'm definitely down for a pearl. Currently my smithing is 40, just got apprentice rank. So I can benifit players with armor and weapons that vary up to near level 50. I'll be on at 3pm est today lvling my smithing, but I'm running low on gil, so I may have to quit and farm. Tonight I believe I'm supposed to do some Promy's with my main LS. But As soon as I''m done there, I'll be back on smithing. I wouldn't say I'll be a hardcore smither. But I believe that once I get the craft higher, I'll be on the LS a lot more. And I'm always available for help. Assuming I'm not in a pty or looking for one. So just send me a tell. And I am certainly not a "help me now" kind of person. I'm excited about the prospect of crippling the AH and in turn the gilsellers. Please send me /tell.

I have had some encouraging experiences in the past few days talking with different people in game. Later tonight I will start to post the names of people who you can contact about getting a pearl. In the mean-time, just send me a tell and I'll hook you up myself. I'm usually on from 8-12pm est.

Asherr, it will be great to have a Smither with us. Currently, there are a lot of cooks and whatnot. You would be a great addition.

I might be interested in a linkshell. I currently have one character with 41 gold, 60 cooking and various amounts of other skills and another that I am going to lvl to 100 in cooking. Send a /tell to shortybus.

I normally have a second comp up and running and if I'm not in a party i can easily look up recipes or vendor info
