Is ffxi still worth my time?Follow

#1 Aug 01 2005 at 5:09 AM Rating: Decent
I am not that high level on the game and haven't even got a job passed 40 yet or a craft passed amatuer rank but it seems i am doing other things now then ffxi.

like the other day i thought about going on the game and thought "well if i get bored and get in party i will be letting people down and i probably will get bored" so i went on Bnet and had time of my life ^^

Then i went on it next day got my crafting skills up abit the logged out. normally i would be all estactic about it and wont to go back on it but that time it felt like a waste of time.

And there is other stuff to that i onced loved and now seems pointless but i dont wont to bore you with the details just the big picture.

So i was wonderring is ffxi still worth it?

That's a question that nobody can answer for you.

Yes there is a lot that this game has to offer. A lot of it I haven't even started yet at 67. A lot of people say this game doesn't even really start until 65, some say 75. It's all what YOU want out of the game.

Eh I personally don't care TOO much of end game. Even though I go with my LS to sky and farm god pop items I do it because i wanna spend time with them and experience new things.

Id's say its still worth it.

Like Leet said... that's something you're going to have to answer for yourself.

I think everyone gets into these slumps... where you seriously question whether it's worth it. In the end, you have to ask yourself - do I still have fun? Because, it is a game, and you should have fun while playing a game.

i'd say the same as leet and cit.

some thoughts:

1. definitely 70+ (it's an interesting thing to run around without having to worry overmuch about aggro, and at the same time be able to participate in high-lvl adventures and see awesome things)

2. it's a balance between RL and game-life (overindulgence in one or the other will probably throw you into a slump, like addiction to a drug or alcohol or cigarettes)

3. make online friends, not just about the game (true for most, since no one really plays alone in game; more friends you interact with generally makes the journey through more exciting or pleasureable. most will have an online friend by the end of the 2nd week. i was lucky, isominds and madeline and craya i met all on day one; craya is a RL friend playing of course)

Some good advice from all, maybe with the exception of Cruelfate...... :P

If you have fun then you should keep doing it. Half the time when i have logged on i had a conversation with a friend or my ls rather than leveling anything so the game is really a fun and interactive experience for me...think about what it is like for you and go from there.
