Probably on the FFXI main site.. but can't say for sure I haven't been paying attention since it's always the same thing.. for like the past three years -.- hopefully it will be changed in some way..only thing i've seen different is they changed the name of it :/

One difference is that (currently) instead of questing for the Onoko and (female variant) Yukatas or the Lord's and Lady's Yukatas - you can buy them for 10k and 50k respectively from the moogles in part of whatever city you are in. I found the merchant moogles in Port Bastok, but that's all I've looked in - and I shelled out 50k for Lord's Yukata since I LOVE goldfish scooping. >< I took part in last years - but deleted that account because of school - I had all the good stuff you could get from this...and lost it.

I haven't seen any quest moogles yet - but hopefully they'll make their appearance soon.

The dancing Taru's are pretty funny - those are an addition.

From what I understand, today (Saturday) they're adding the quest for the swimsuits, and to me, Hume/Elvaan Male look awful to me (My arms look as thin as a mithras)

But anyway, last year's was sort of fun, where you teamed up with another race and gender and were in a high level dungeon capped at level 1 with a sneak/invisible effect, the main goal was to find a ??? inside the dungeon, then when you and your parter get your key item, use the warp item you got then talk to the moogle again for your regular Yukata.

Repeat it again with 2-3 (forgot) other races/genders to get your HQ Yukata that gave you better chances goldfish scooping. (Any additional times this was done would result in random awards like chocobo tickets and etc.)

Goldfish Scooping was just a fun way to spend time, if you know about Japanese traditions you may have seen or heard about this before, on FFXI you pretty much bought a goldfish bowl from a NPC and scoops, caught 3 different types of fish, each one had a certain "weight" to it (heavier it was, better odds your scoop would rip) and you were given points for the fish you caught which you could turn in for prizes, I think all the prizes are the same this year and last year, except the 2nd mystery item which was added this year.

Also, another new thing about summerfest this year is how SE decorated the nations, which they only did for Valentine's Day and Christmas in the past.

Aliiyah <3 Summerfest!!

Yeah last years Summerfest was awesome!! The dungeon event, you had to go with I think 4 other sexes and races to get the items for the Yukatas (once for regular and another time for the +1)... and the more you went, the extra prizes you could collect were chocobo tickets (which I still have like a stack of), and spring and summer fans (which I made a killing on by selling months down the road!). The dungeons allowed newer people to make friends of all jobs and parts of the US and JP and to see areas they wouldn't safely have been able to see otherwise. (It gave me a huge jump on knowing my way around a lot of areas before I was ever able to go to them! IE: Temple of Uggalpeith) I hope they have something fun like that again! Plus you could death warp back to the town you left from with NO XP LOSS and keep the Warp scroll for later use (they were city specific and Rare/Ex though...) and I had one for each city until needed in an "emergency"...

The music and fireworks are the same (love them!!), however they can now also be enjoyed from Rabao and Altepa this year. (I don't think they were there last year...)

The city decorations and dancing tarus are also new... and a nice touch! Plus the easily accessible fireworks selling moogles are nice. Last year they were NPC that were only available during the fireworks and they were "blended" into the city folk... a bit hard to find. Plus they were very expensive to buy. More affordable this year!

Goldfish scooping is the same as last year and a pleasant pastime... the 80 point prize this year is used for building an aquarium for your Mog House, so I grabbed one of those... so... um... who can make me one?!?! LOL!!

I saw the pics of the "swimsuits" for this year (which buff you for "clamdigging", just as the Yukata buff you for "goldfish scooping") are kinda cute for the taller female races... (no offense to taru, or males... just a opinion there...) as they are a orange and dark red-ish two piece. Kinda sarong like bottom for females and shorts for males... there were pics on KI if you all are interested... links here:

Hume Male
