Thank you Kilhara and friends. NO THANKS TO YOU, HAKAI.Follow

Well, after a total of fifteen hours spent in the hell we call Eldieme Necropolis, I FINALLY have my Coffer Key for the place.

Last night Kilhara and some LS friends helped me get it, however the LS friends left and it was Kilhara who ended up getting it for me.

And then she offered to help me with the Coffer and Hakai intervened.

Kilhara and I were for a long time the only ones in the dungeon. She said that maybe the coffer popped where she got her's originally, so we went to that entrance. A few minutes later she finds the coffer.

So I have to press some switches for her. I was REALLY nervous; the bomb was near me and I didn't know if I should cast magic or not when I had to leave. Luckily I was okay.

Well, I followed her directions and I didn't know that you could fall through the gravel in the big rooms... Yeah so I fell through and had to start all over. >.<

So we started over and all went okay. I ended up reaching the coffer, and I really don't want to blame this on you Kilhara (but I must! ^_^) and Kilhara told me to go to the switch before opening up the Coffer so she can get over to me and escape me so I don't die. Wise plan.

So I go to the switch. She runs through the doors. I recast invis and sneak, go past the bomb, and we run up to where the coffer was.

And there's a little stinking god damn level 61 full AF Red Mage taru named Hakai opening the coffer.

OMG, was I pissed. And he fled before I could say anything.

Kilhara said that we could hope it would respawn, so I went to the switches again etc etc. And I recast and the stupid Bomb moved and I got aggro from casting magic. STUPIDLY I ran out into the big room without even sneak on, so everything aggroed me. If I had just stayed in the switch room Kilhara could've come to the hole in the wall and cast Escape on us and I wouldn't have died.

So I gave up for today. She said she would help tomorrow, thankfully.

Now, do any of you know Hakai? Would he be so greedy as to open a freaking ELDIEME NECROPOLIS coffer when you see TWO freaking Red Mages in the dungeon besides yourself, one barely over the level for the AF gloves? I am really hoping Hakai is a nice person. I have a bone to pick with him and it's gonna be picked tomorrow when I log on.

Ah well, I got the key. Fifteen hours of work, but I got it. So I'm happy. And I thank Kilhara, Apathy, and the Mithra Paladin with white hair who's name started with a J that helped us. And at least I could put all the anger Hakai caused to something worth being angry at: the terrorist bombings in London.

Ah well, I hope tomorrow we can get a coffer and kill Dark Spark. And maybe they could help me (along with Eliminater) with Genkai 2... And finding my Garlaige Citadel coffer (I have the key...)... Oooh I sound so spoiled and demanding. =P

Thanks guys.

Yea it sure sucks to see someone opening a coffer in front of your face... ESPECIALLY when they went to open it for the treasure, not your AF.

Kina mean how he saw you but yet open the coffer for his money, especially he went thru the stage of AF he perfectly knows what a pain it can be :x But then, coffers are first come first serve, so... /comfort

It kind of does suck to have the coffer for your AF in front of you. I've been on both sides of the coffer/chest hunting.

I was trying to get my RSE before and a THF wandered by and picked my chest. :'( Everything was cool later on because he helped me get a key to drop. He didn't probably understand {Racial Gear} auto translate initially when I was trying to stop him from opening the chest.

And another time, I was in Quicksand Caves looking for a map. I remember seeing people killing ants to try and get a key to drop when I was wandering looking for the coffer. Later on I did find it and another player was camping it. I gave it a couple thoughts of whether I should open it or not... I decided on doing so because I really wanted the Quicksand Caves map, and this being my 5th trip looking for the coffer for the map. He hadn't gotten the key yet and maybe the chest will respawn at the time that his key will drop. Sure, I felt a little bad... but it wasn't gil in the chest that I was after.

Die he know you were looking for your AF, I'll agree that sucks but maybe he needed the item that drops from chest (Vile Elixer +1) for a BCNM or something.

The Vile Elixer +1 is only worth around 80k last I checked, but really anyone has a right to the coffers, provided they arn't monopolizing them. That rdm had a key that he probably got while helping friends on an unrelated quest (whm bell maybe?). You wont see him in htere every day, he was just in the right place at the right time.

Af from coffers is nowhere near as bad as it used to be. Castle Oz coffers had a very valuable ring in them before a patch removed it. Nothing worse then fighting off 6+ gilfarmers with lockpicks who camp the coffer spawns 24/7. Lots of players complained and SE did the right thing.

Fe'yin coffer is still abused by plenty of theives looking for lifebelts, but I dont know of any AF there.. just a tele scroll.

lol i remember doing that!

feoen, just because there are other rdm's in the area wouldn't necessarily mean that you are looking for a coffer. I can see if you told him that you were looking for the coffer and he goes and grabs it. He honestly might not have known.

Hehe, I remember that. Nothing like a little profanity in caps to liven up an LS conversation ^^.

If you have a key you have the right. i'm sure it sucked tho. But what's another 30 minutes? I know people that spent up to 20+ hours in GC just trying to find a coffer.. not counting all the time it took to actually get the key.

yeah coffers suck, but it is first come first serve. I stole one in garliage citadel once, as soon as someone opened the 3rd gate, but hell i needed it too. At least you got it, the worst part is getting a damn key in eld, with that out of the way, finding the coffer just takes some time.

And I just found out that Hakai is a gil seller.

God damnit.

You can open the coffer for quest related AF, for this example, it is possible the person opened the coffer for his/her WAR AF gloves which happen to be in the same place. As long as you have the quest active, you can open coffers with any job.

Altho it is shameful to steal a coffer, there is really nothing ni the agreement against it and for that matter no unwritten rule that the first person to see the coffer gets the coffer. If the coffer is up, its free and anyone can take it.
