Warning: The following lines are just a way for me to get some steam out, as I feel its better to do it here then to shout in my linkpearl or go downtown and bash some wierdo drunk person in the bar. Also please keep in mind that {English} isnt my first language, thus the occasionaly(sp?) misspellings.

Dear Mr Idiot in Crawlers Nest this morning. It has come to my conclusion that you may believe that your Rank 10, the elitish gear and all the NM drops you got that you have written in your search comment, would be an EASY way into partys.

Witch it aint.
When our PLD left the party because he where very tired i only saw you NIN lfg. Nor did i take your rank10 or "speciel" written search comment into consideration when i sent you a party invite,No.. it was because i saw a potentional tank who could keep the hate from us ppl who generates it. And maybe, just maybe you would like to party and have a fun time?.

You see, i Congrat you for getting rank 10 and all your yber items and such thing, i could also say that i am a little bit jelouse, BUT im so very suprised over your behaviour that i need to elabroate some simple tips/rules thats good to know while partying.. (since you seem to have forgoten them)

1.To join a group it is not exactly a good thing to say something like "Oh is this a n00b party?" congratulations!

2.A party sometimes take alot of time to get together, especially when there is no one lfg, thus there is no point in threatening us to leave if we dont get going soon?.

3.No i dont think trying to kill Soldier Crawlers with only 3 ppl untill the rest will arrive is a good idea?.

4.For waiting in the party for exactly 15 min and then disband with the words "Ok, i dont need this party" isnt something nice to say either, even if your very frustrated by your previously xp'ing party that didnt do your every bidding.

5.To tell our whm to get some skills and farm for Erase is just retarded. I know the value of Erase and id say it aint such a big deal. Well it is but not so that you had to leave the party or flame the whm.

If your on tonight ill be happily to explain some more simple manours if you would like?. I can also listen to your story were your father dropped your in the floor as kid, or when you got togheter with your first girlfriend, i dont care. Ill do everything i can so that others might appriciate having you into the party!.

//Rant off.

pheeew.. anyway lets give this guy alot of /clap's and /waffles if ya see him. I think he is a little sad lfg for 5hrs because of his reputation.

A well balanced party (takes time and patience to build that) with reasonable gear and skill (not all HQ but neither gimped -- i.e. up-to-date gear, eat food, and no underleveled sub) can preform reasonably well.

About Erase, I can see why NIN tanks want that spell, but demanding a white mage (especially a new one) to have it is a little excessive. At the same time to the white mage involved, that does not mean he/she should not get that spell. I think white mages before level 50 should get that spell.

A "noob pt" can perform just as well as more "vet pt" if it is well balanced... That rank 10 person is little elitist imo. I think people should pay more patience when making pt, and not rush and slap a bunch of people together and go level -- something I admit that happened a lot nowadays.

It is not me that turns this to Amanada quit thread -_-;;;;;;;;

Back to main topic...

I find myself quite elitist sometimes when I see people build unfunctioning PTs or unable to skill chain. It is more like, I dislike the "Exp is Exp" altitude that I see commonly among low levels.

I have seen the best PTs, and that tends to raise the bar of what an average PT should be. And sometimes it is quite demoralizing when you see people not live up to the "mean" (like able skill chain or build a well balanced PT).

Its noticably difficult to get 6 people to together at this level(from 25-45) and form the perfect exp party.

from level 10 onwards the standard pt setup would be a bunch of DD and a healer and a tank... thats pretty much it.

Many people new to the game get stuck in routine. level 35+ are very different, jobs start sinking into the roles more, and many roles change.

RDM suddenly find themselfs thrown from from the role healers/nukers.. maybe enfeeblers to having all these new spells.. they become refreshers and dispelers for the most part.

Ninja and paladin gain some of there key hate holding spells.

Many off the DD come away from there time in the jungle with a thirst for there new found power. Rangers with there barrage and dark knights with there souleater... Learning when and where to use them is different from the usual, throw all you have at the enemy attitude they may of previously had..

It definatly can be fustrating at times... But I think a little slack can be given to people at these key levels while there still settling....

The way I see it alot of these n00b partys can be prevented by these elitists passing on a few words of wisdom rather than labelling them as n00bs and pushing them to one side.

If that makes sense

I find a lot of more senior player are unwilling to discuss game tactics and experience with more junior player... Names will not named here (it involves some fairly well known players), I have a few experience that in a noob pt that I know it is not working, and there are like one other more senior player there. That person has a power leveler to come, while I try to make suggestions what to do. When I challenge that, he/she say he/se is doing that for the fun of him/her, and the other members do not oppose... And I am talking about level 30+ before.

Messing up another player learning curve and experience to level fast is greedy and selfish. I got through Valkrum and Qufim 4-5 times without a power leveler. I have sit in Kon. Highlands talking to subless player how to use macros and provoke... Is that really that hard to do?

If anyone has a game question, you can PM me here, and I will answer it to the knowledge I know.

Folks, FFXI is not a rush or a race. Take your patience man...

I've never understood the attitude that some more experienced players take toward "n00bs"... Everybody has been inexperienced at one point or another. Hell, it took me 45 minutes to figure out my way arouns Southern SanD'Oria. I've been through the dunes 4 times now, and every time I /befriend more people than the time before. Nothing is as rewarding as teaching a new player and watching him/her perform well.

yea it kina works both ways. there are some noobs around that don't listen and think they know it all, or just here to be annoying, which some elitist decided that dunes is full of noobs. Its gonna be all stupid, and cannot live thru it without a PLer (which is obviously not true, i played my whm thru, no SJ, without a PLer and survived. Also did the dunes stage on my pld within a day coz of nice pt) I really hate them coming in and say "well you noobs don't understand" and yes, not only implication, they say it out loud... and mind you, those are generally the players who actually performs worse in the pt.

Sometimes there are things newer players do not know , and it is nice that vet players can give some advice. But out right calling "Noob, you suck!" is another issue. That is insulting, and closes the door of useful dialogoue.

A lot of this is about ego. Being to put oneself up makes oneself better to certain people. Hell, I had borrowed my friend's Kirin Osode before just to wear it for fun, show off, and screenshot.

About the mentality of not listening to helpful advice... Sometime has to do with "This is MY game,I play MY way." That is something SE does not design the game as ... It is supposed to be a team game, you cannot play the game "YOUR" way that hurts teamwork.

I'd just like to say that I am a Noob+1, Im the one that says "Why should I heal the PLD he has mp" as whm. The one that says "I only refresh myself and mages the PLD doesnt need it" as RDM I'm the level 7 warrior that runs thru the dunes training 5-7 goblins to the Kon Zone because I thought I could "take one". I'm the SMN who cant seem to find my cure spells because I'm too busy trying to be a DD. and the BLM who cant cast a cure when we get a link because Freeze and Flare are just too powerful and use too much MP to worry about healing. But all joking aside I agree 100% with u soyo and think ur post was very funny. Gave me a great laugh. :)
