Well here's my story..... I put up a ring for 3k on AH jeuno, I was there and i noticed the ring had sold so i go to my mog check my delivery box and OMG ! 190k ? and the ring was sent back to me as well. I can remember paying 40k for a item that was selling for 4k >< and i was told to ***** myself and that it was "My Problem" but i could not do that to the person. So that night i tracked down the person and returned the 190k.Do you all think im crazy for doing this ? Cuz i think given the oppoutunity iw ould do the same thing again.

Worst thing could be that you gave the person money that wasn't his to begin with, something might've just been wrong with the delivery system, I don't know.
Of course you did the right thing, but I mean... 190 is something painful to just lose like that.

This happened to me when i sold a single light crystal 3 days ago, i saw that it sold so i went to my moogle, and bam someone paid 12K for it. that was cool, but i tracked down the person and it was a ***. so i kept it!

but in your instance he returned the ring also, mmmm i dont know about that. i think i would have returned all the gil too, even though we all know that anyone could use that $$$.

I totally respect what you did. My friend about a month ago accidently bid 2million on a wrong item. We have all been trying to track teh person down to ask him if he could at least return part of it. Problem is the person has not been online at all to ask. Even with 24 hour /sea all *name*. I feel bad for my friend.

What's your beef with non-americans? There are already a whole lot of us on the server and there is just going to be more of us.

I've met really nice people from many nationalities (US, Japan, Canada, France, Italy, UK, Switzerland) on the server, as well as some not so nice people also from several nationalities. Nationality means nothing.

Treat everyone nicely and chances are you might get more back than you expect. ***** people around and live with the consequences. (Yup, they will complain to their LSs, their friends, etc. So would you.)

I have nothing Against anyone. Maybe that came out wrong i was just saying it was a North American player. I by all means would have returned the Gil whether NA,JP,pygmy, faerie, elf, goblin whatever......... I have come to make friends with many ethnical players from all over the world maybe my putting NA sounded bad but was not meant that way.

Nationalities cause nothing but trouble, but more so in your own country. Examples:

Non-US Person: What's your nationality?
Me: I'm an American.
Non-US Person: Cool.

Ideally, of course. BUT...

American: What's your nationality?
Me: I'm an American.
American: No, you idiot, what's your nationality?
Me: Oh. I'm Polish, Irish, and Cherokee.
American: How much of each?
Me: 75%, 22.5%, and 2.5%, respectively.
American: How the @$%# can you know that!? You're so $%!!#$! !#$@!%^#$, you #!$&@#%!!!
Me: Trust me, I know. You did ask, ya know.
American: !#$$!%# !#$%!6 you, !#%&!%!!!, etc..., etc..., etc....

The moral of this story: when in your own country, always admit you're a tourist...it's easier to cover your mistakes that way.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled forum.

Ok, granted he didn't understand you... however, I can easily tell you what happened. He bid the cost of a cluster for your crystal. The best thing to do here is subtract the cost of the light crystal.. ~800-1k, then return the rest. So say 11k. If he returns it, its yours. However, you don't need to communicate to barter.

Zip... you did the right thing, especially since they returned the ring as well. That is a clear indication they did not mean to bid on that ring, but one near it on the list. I'm sorry you didn't have such luck yourself. I hope it never happens to you again.

Also, I've noticed that sometimes as your arrowing around the AH list, if your mouse moves just a lil bit before you hit enter to bid or check price history, you could end up bidding or checking the price on something else. It's best to look at the item description after you've gotten to the Price History/Bid menu to make sure you're still on the desired item.

:-/ I didn't get my gil returned.. *sigh* Neither did my LS buddy but he really got lucky for "overbidding". He bought a Deft Ring +1 for around 40k a long time ago by accident. He sold it for around 200k. Lucky a$$.

Honesty rewards itself. As for the 2mil goof. Ouch. I hope I one day see 2mil. lol. I hope your friend gets his 2mil back.
