Past threads have prompted me to start this new topic.

I myself is originally from Hong Kong -- I lived there for 18 years before moving to the United States. It is sad to see that fellow Chinese are doing such bad things in the game. There are a lot of unethical business in Hong Kong and China that use a game to maximize profit -- caring less about the fun of others.

As a player myself, I tried to make myself as helpful to others as it can be. But I have to admit I have fair amount mistakes in getting other people killed ^^;;;;.

I know some of you really hate those Chinese "players", but please do not sterotype Chinese players = S**t. It kind of makes me insecure when I read all those posts about the Luck-gang, and Cn-Gang. I hate those folks too. Haha my LS mates and myself have some really bad experience with them.

In order to not to allow these Chinese "players" to take over, do not sponser their activities... i.e. Do not buy gil, do not buy from their bazaar etc. And there are ways to outsmart them in NM camping ^^:

I completely agrre with you aboout this, if you don't support them they will go away. However from what I sse in this server (gil buying, overcamped NMs, casinos, guild>>AH camping, etc.) people don't seem to like to farm or craft mush on this world it seems.

If they do, the lower lvl players need to have someone show them whats up w/ the whole farming/crafting thing, becuase out of need and laziness, things like this will be a problem for ppl who do farm and craft, and denounced but still used by everyone else.

/wave Amanda (I was your Galka PLD the other day ^^; )

Anyway, I completely agree with you that no one should be stereotyping any Chinese player. The best thing to do when faced against an enemy is to ignore them ^^ Please do not buy anything from CN's or Luck's, that is the best approach imo.

/assist Amanda ^^
*PS, sadly I'm Chinese born in America, I can't keep hate at all ; ; I guess I'm a terrible player, how coincidental. /sigh

Fundmentally, the problem resides among players who are not gil or account sellers. While it is unethical for those Chinese gilfarmers to do their business. Their business is only profitable if there are customers.

Bycotting them is one thing, but also review your own game ethics. By game ethics, I mean not only buying gil, so you can level fast. It also means help out other players for free and goodness. A lot of the gil buying are prompted by the fact players are not willing to help out each other, and resort the use of gil to "bribe" help. I don't how many times I have seen people /sh 30k gil for helping coffer key in Lower Jueno. Also remember the people that have helped you, and helped them back. I know more than a few people (no mentioning names) that it is always helping, but never get any help back.

People who solicite help should also be nice. I don't mind to raise or help someone a quest, but hell... At least use the word "please" and don't do all caps "/sh"s, and don't beg. Don't do things like "Raise?", "Plz Plz Plz (10 times)", "Can I have 1000 gil plz plz plz." That is very annoying. And be considerate what the potential helper may be doing (like camping NM or in a pt or already helping someone).

Sorry, I cannot stop but to continue to talk.

FFXI is fundementally a game. It is for fun. In some ways, I love the old ways being a low level, and be innocent. Being a level 75 is cool, but it does not make you an umber-l33t. As a rank 7 level 60+, a lot more annoying s**t I have to deal with.

Playing the game for fun solves a lot of problems in this game. No only gil-farming, but other matters also. I myself have been tricked for gil or equipment before, and I know others have similar experience (some of them actually quited after being tricked).

Play nice and good is all I ask for.

I am going to shut up.
