Blue Mage in Chains of PromethiaFollow

All these advanced jobs only involve superior tanking or sumonning. "I want to see C.O.P put out a Blue Mage advanced job.
Maybe this mage could lower enemies defense/Int/etc.. and be more of a tank mage!.

Its just a wild thought, dont take this one too serious.
whats your thoughts?

I can't vouch for what a Blue Mages main role would be, as I have not played many of the original Final Fantasy Titles.

That's not why I'm replying though. I feel like stating my thoughts on IF they are adding a new job.

Either Square-Enix is doing a wonderful job of keeping new jobs secret, or there aren't any. In my opionion, I would not get your hopes up.

very true in that sense, but i guess well find out in "11" days for sure.
Although 40 new levels does sound nice!

I just hope they do add 1 or 2 more jobs.

there will not be a blue mage in CoP, you may as well accept it now, instead of gtting let down when you buy it cause you expected one.

and how do "all these adv jobs involve tanking or summoning"? the majority of the adv jobs are dmg dealers.

and a tank mage? all i can do is laugh at that.

now if you want to hope for a job that might actually be added in CoP, hope for a necromancer job
if you look at the CoP new mob info released by SE, there is a mob who "unlike other mindless undead, has risen after thousands of years with clear purpose and intelecte, and can control other undead".
in this game, every beastman mob uses one of the jobs we can use. there are nin mobs, bst mobs, brd, rng, ect. but there is not a single beastman mob in the game, who doesnt use one of the jobs players can use. from war and mage quadav, to bd and nin yugado, every beastman is a useable job.

if there will be beastman who can control undead, theres a vry good chance that there will be a player job that can do the same.

Lower enemys stats? got DRK drains for that.
Tanking mage? well, there is RDM^^

There is nothing a bluemage will add to the game

I'm pretty certain there is no Blue mage comming this time(whats the short of that n e ways....guess its not blm...)if they were i would think it would be on the website with the new armor, new lands, and mobs etc....

hey, i could be wrong, and if i am that means i gotta go on another quest -_- but hey, new things like that are what make the game fun.

Isn't the Beastmaster half a Blue Mage? I remember the Gun Mage (was equivalent to Blue Mage) from FF 10-2 had beastkiller, bird killer, plant-killer etc. traits. :-X

Well if there was going to be a Blue Mage in CoP then from other FF titles I remember that they have the ability to steal the special Attacks from a mob. i.e. Such as Goobbue-"Blow" Goblin- "Bomb Toss". But then again that has nothing to do with magic I think.. But it would be Hilarious if you saw on your chat log
-The Rock Eater misses Leeor.
-Leeor misses the Rock Eater.
-Leeor steals Special Attack from the Rock Eater.
-Leeor Readies Gastric Bomb.

there will absolutely, positvely, be NO Blue mage in C.o.P.
At least at release time, or in the near future. Squenix has already confirmed it on their site. Also, the euro players recieved there copies of CoP yesterday in the mail, though they can't register it til the 21st like us, alot of them used this site to relay interest points from the manual. No where in the manual is any new job, job skill, job look, job style, or job class even touched on. You may say, "well it might be secret". I think not; why would SE not advertise a major selling point to the title, also, if you remember zilart's manual, they delve fairly deeply into each new job that was added at that time. So sadly, there is no new jobs in the release version of CoP.Smiley: cry

---on an interesting side note, there is a subtle mention of fisherman being able to use boats in the near future. I thought that was cool. Smiley: clap

There is definitely a need for more jobs. Blue mage could be a great main job, and also a great subjob for mages. Also a few more melee jobs would be nice. A Pirate would be a nice job. They could have Uber melee attacks as well as Treasure Hunting abilites, and when Thf is subbed they could have the Sickest SA/TA in the game. Oh yeah there stealing abilites would be aimed at other players!!! LoL

LOL, thank you Lleor, this was the kind of response i was going after. People "I know they are not putting a Blue Mage in the game" you took me way too serious. I was more or less saying "what if"
just trying to expand your mind on what another mage could do.

Blue Mage would be fun, getting some of the monster abilities would make Blue Mage the ultimate solo machine

Cactrot Rapido uses 10,000 needles
Corrderio learns 10,000 needles
Corrderio was defeated by Cactrot Rapido

Hey, I can dream right? :P

In that case. The job i want to see is "Dancer" from FF Tactics.
God I loved that job, I always had at least 2 of them in my pt.

Agreeed. Id be very surprised if any new jobs were in CoP.

I dont know what game you've been playing, but its not Final Fantasy. I agree with your reasoning, but I dont think we are likely to see a non traditional FF 5/Tactics job in this game. Same goes for Pirate, and Firefighter :P.

Right. No one wants to be able to give +AGI to their whole party (Dhalmel ablility) or steal TP from enemies (TP Drainkiss, Leeches). I disagree, if only Squeenix would consider making the Blue Mage what they were in Tactics advance, and less like Strago (shudders). Melee oriented with some sweet abilites that no other mage has.

And when I say melee oriented, I mean much much more than Red Mages.

Same here ^^. Although Im not sure what they would do now, since Bard pretty much covers most of what they did. But who knows? Although I dont relish the sight of a Galka Dancer ><.
