Ok it's time to share one of my noob moments with the support group here. :-) If anyone has read any of my posts you know that I've been trying to get gil/equipment for my monk. I've found Davoi as one of my favorite places to farm so I go there pretty regularly now. Normally I have little to no luck getting NMs there because of people like this incredibly bad ace DRK last night using Spiral Hell and Chinqlinq (I will beat you Chinq :-) Yet I still go just to kill beastriders.
So anyways, me and 2 LS buddies head out there last night to start slaughtering everything we can (which definitely has it's limitations there) and see what drops. It's me (MNK/THF for TH), Kowalakiller (DRG/WAR), and Speck (RDM/RNG for widescan). We are running back and forth between Hawkeyed and Steelbiter for awhile just killing cursemakers and beastriders. I decide I'm going to go and sit at the pond because we've killed a lot of cursemakers already. I get there and someone is camping him. This instinctivly kicks on my competitive nature and I start spamming the hell out of Chi Blast. All of the sudden, I get a <call> and check my log. I see Pulling Steelbiter ???? from Speck (Level 34 at the time mind you). Immediately following is a lot of $^%* Help!. I start running my butt off to get to him because Kowala was fighting. I get over to him and unleash a Raging Fists I had saved up. Kowalakiller jumps in shortly after and we whip him pretty easily. Lizard Piercer. :-/ Oh well it was a fun fight.
I run back over to continue my friendly competition with what seemed like a bot (wouldnt wave back, wouldn't respond, always returned to same spot after killing Orc pops). After hitting my CTRL+1 about 4 times Hawkeyed pops Red. That's right, the chi blast prevailed. Drops the Archer's Knife. Now 20k might not seem like much, but when you need 1mil in equip and are trying to get married (just need the gil now...) every bit helps. So we're pretty psyched. 2 NM kills in 2 minutes. Hands shaking, feeling pretty lucky, we decide to test our luck at Poisonhand. Along the way I come across that dead end at the NE corner. I saw a cave so I'm like..hmmmm.. what's this? I walk into Monastic Cavern just because I had never seen it. Walked back out because I don't feel like dying, then realize, we just lost our Archer's knife! DOH!
Moral of the story, If you're going to NM camp with friends, make sure one is smart enough to realize you lose what's in the treasure chest if you all zone at the same time. /slap Leetfade, /slap Speck, /slap Kowalakiller.
Side Note: We also killed Morbolo 4 times with no drop. Stupid Ochus

I once did a few BCNM runs and after the very first round some minor things drop and also a scroll of Erase - YAY.
Well we didn't have a quartermaster set, so we appointed one person - all other pt members passed on the loot.
Then since we were in a rush to get the 2nd round going our treasure holder warps back to Windy to unload some of his inventory....
You do not meet the requirements. Scroll of Erase lost.
He had warped before he obtained all the treasure from the pool and since we had all passed, our scroll was lost.
Needless to say - Erase didn't drop anymore for the rest of the night, lol.

I might not have lost a 20k item but I can remeber the countless times that I lost fairly good drops cause of the same reason. I'm willing to bet I lost over 50k cause of that....

lol ... I think we all had moments like these. Back when I needed to get the Khazam Airship pass, I went out to solo the quest. I was a lvl 30RDM at the time, so it was possible for me to do so. Palborough Mines and Yughott Grotto keys dropped rather quickly (without a 15THF sub), so I made my way to Giddeus. I camped the birds there for a few hours with no drop. Finally I got the key to drop, and rambled in LS chat about how happy I was. In my excitement I didn't realize that my inventory was full of many different Yagudo drops (necklaces, coins, feathers). My joy ended when I saw the text ...

WOOHOO I'm not the only one. :-) Neera, I think you take the cake with that 300k scroll. Ouch. I'll remember next time I go into a BCNM (not that I'll win. :-/) to make sure to lot. My astounding record of 0/15 makes me feel like I'm not going to have to worry about BCNM drops for awhile. Anyone care to help me fix this string of bad luck? LoL
