Howdy, y'all. Before you ask, the good news is not that I'm returning to the game. Byaina is still active, but I haven't been on in a looong friggin' time and will probably finally choke it down and cancel before too long. The news is quite different, in fact. Many of you know that I met Gunslinger (who is still actively playing) on FFXI about two years ago and have been dating him for a year and a few months. We started out long-distance, with him in California and myself in Virginia, until he moved to be with me a year ago today. Then I moved to California to be with him, and here we remain.
Anyway, Gunslinger proposed to me this past Sunday, and I'm very happy to announce our engagement. :) We're probably not the only couple to meet on the game and decide to get married in real life, but we're the only ones I know of, so that's something. There are no current plans to have the wedding FFXI-themed, not in the least because I don't even play anymore, lol. The ring is lovely (QUITE lovely), we are aiming for an early fall wedding on the East Coast next year, and no other details are forthcoming. Other than the fact that we're toying with the idea of webcasting the event for our in-game buddies to share.
So that's the news. Pretty neat, huh?

Oh you should get married in game, just file for one and once you get it and you get the rings then cancel the account. That way others know Gun is taken in game and out :þ

Thanks for all your well-wishes, guys :D We may yet throw an in-game wedding (not one of the official ones, mind you) for our in-game friends to share this with us, so keep an eye on this space.

WHOA!! i was wondering earlier what was going on with you in ffxi, so there i was going through the old forums and BAM! you're marrying gun! that's so awesomely crazy! just wanted to say congratulations and i hope you're doing ok. man, now i'm all remembering all the good times we had playing ffxi together with the radical dreamers. that was a long time ago, huh? dosen't feel like it though. i still remember that day back in december '03 in konschtat highlands where i was thinking to myself "these freakin saplings are kicking my ***." then i see you run by in the distance and well...that /tell led to me meeting you as well as everybody else in the game. meemmoooorrriiiiieeeessss... don't wanna get all gushy with the stories, so once again, congrats and take care, pal!
