Can someone get me a world pass for the bismarck server, i would get one of my friends in the server to get me one only they don't know how to, i would be very greatful to anyone who does get me one

If you have friends in this server just tell them that there is a world pass NPC in each of the three main cities. THe one in Bastok is to the right after you exit the airship building...it's not too hard or costly to get one, I am sure they can find it easily.
The one in San d'Oria is just outside the Residential Area exit/entrance in Port San d'Oria. He looks like an elderly elvaan. Don't forget if you both want to obtain special items together to get/use a Gold World Pass. =)

I have about 4 friends who are about to join FFXI.
I was wondering exactly how these world passes work and if more than one person can use them at a time?

They're not exactly pricy, about less than two thousand gil -at most-. I think a pass has 5-7 uses, so there should be enough room for your friends. Also, if you create a new character on the same account, it will end up on the main character's server, always. The WP expires rather quickly, so you've got to move fast. If you still need a worldpass, let me know, I'll lend you one tonight.
