I know it sounds strange, but I swear I can taste the different ratios of syrup to carbination between fountains, and it drives me CRAZY x.x

That's 'cause there are different ratios...most fountains have the same setup (CO2 tank and diff. containers of syrup connected to dispensing machine) but the amount of each is adjustable, and people like to tinker with things like that, so...

I too am from Atlanta, and unlike some poor unnamed soul in this thread, I do like Coke the most. Of course right now I'm dieting to the best of my abilities w/o giving up caffine, so I've resorted to Diet Coke to drop the calories ^^

i vote for coke.

however, i have to have it in a can with a straw.

Coke lime and cherry are awesome also. i picked up a 12 pack of the new black cherry vanilla stuff yesterday becuase it was on sale, this morning i woke up very thirsty and a tiny bit hungover, opened up a can of the stuff took a chug and almost barfed, to me it seemed thick, too many after tastes, and i woke my roomates up screaming in horror over it. great, 11 more cans of this crap to go.

this is where i get super ultra **** about my soda.
the normal vanilla coke/pepsi in the bottle/can is horrible to me, it tastes like a captin and coke, i like my non alcoholic drinks to taste nothing like alcoholic ones.. BUT i LOVE the fountain/flavor shot vanilla cokes i can get at ice cream shops around where i live.

if i have to buy a plastic bottle of pop it has to be pepsi. plastic bottle coke tastes sorta like the bottle to me.
same goes for fountain drinks, it has to be pepsi, unless the vanilla shot option is involved, then it has to be coke.

yikes, im psycho.

anyone live in the midwest and have Sprecher rootbeer/cream soda/beer avalible to them? that is the Sh** to die for.

I myself prefer Coke as a fountain drink. Pepsi if in bottle. Odd how the home of Coke moved to Atlanta and a museum started when the first was about an hour to an hour and a half drive north in Chattanooga.

actually for the truth: Coca-cola Bottling company is located in Atlanta, GA and yes the birth of coca-cola was in Chattanooga, TN ( my home town ). there is a difference. Coca-cola owns the right to the recipe but coca-cola bottling owns the rights to the famous curved bottle shape that coke is so well known for. and in all actuality, coke was invented as a cough suppressant and mild pain killer, thus utilizing cocaine as a small ingredient.

and if it takes you an hour and a half to get to chatt, you drive like my grandma.

Yeah, I think it takes me somewhere between 45 minutes to an hour, but I do live not far off Windy Hill on 75, so I'm much closer than someone who lives in Gwinnett.

*comforthuggles Julant* Sowwy....you can take a can of coke and clean off a car battery. I'm sure you can do it with pepsi too, although you only hear about people using coke for that sort of stuff. Kinda scary {/panic} lol. That is why my #1 choice is Sierra Mist.

Btw...wth are irish carbombs? Sounds interesting haha.

Shot of liquor usually bartenders choice inside a mug/cup of beer. FTW!

[edit]Sorry, just realized it wasn't clear. That's an irish carbomb.[/edit]

Wrong. Proper Irish carbomb is:

~ Pint Glass (The 20 oz one, since Ireland uses a slightly different sized pint.)
~ Shot Glass
~ Fill said Pint Glass about 3/4 of the way with Guiness
~ Layer into the shot glass carefully 1/2 Bailey's Irish Cream and then some Irish whiskey, a la Tullamore Dew, Bushmill's, or Jamison.
(Note: Pour the whiskey on top really carefully so you get a razor thin distinction between the whiskey and the Irish Cream. Trust me on this.)

When you're reading to drink the Irish Car Bomb, take said shotglass and drop it into said pintglass. Then slam it.

Couldn't have put it better myself Smiley: smile

*hugs* @ Tracy ^^ and yeah, I'm sure both soda's are equally as caustic, but I'm a product of my hometown Smiley: laugh What can I say..being born and raised in ATL has doomed me to being a Coke drinker since before I can remember :-P

I don't necessarily like the taste of Coke that much more than Pepsi, just that Pepsi for some reason makes me burp more Smiley: grin
As for Sierra Mist..I suppose I'm a victim of local brand loyalty again - I'd go for Sprite...but my true secret love is really Mt. Dew shhhhh

Yea well I go to college, we don't care for formalities, nor do the bars care for the proper way to do things haha!

lol prolly true..but then again, I wouldn't take my chances ordering an Irish Carbomb at a college bar for just that reason Smiley: grin the sheer number of possible ways they could ***** it up is frightening.

On a somewhat related note, I'd like to caution everyone against doing carbombs with drunk friends who tend to come up lacking in the depth perception and self-control categories...watching someone slam the pint glass down on the bar (which is kinda sorta a tradition with us) is good, but when they do it hard enough to either a)leave the shot glass hanging in mid-air to test gravity, or b)have enough force to spiderweb the glass and leave large chunks of it on the bar, the end result is *never* favorable. Turns the bar area into a minefield for hands/arms and feet, as well as incuring the well-deserved wrath of the bartender >.<

There is still a small plant for coke in Chattanooga. Completely correct on the syrup thing. I prefer fountain only because they tend to mix more syrup than water. As for driving to Atlanta I think my problem is going in at rush hour. I think i made my last drive knoxville to atlanta in about 2 hours. Have some friends used to live on Windy Hills. BTW, which part of Chattanooga you from Aryden?

hahaha Yeah, it's either one helluva game of "What's behind door number one?!" or it's a fast paced game of "drink, dash, and puke!"

lol yeah, carbombs aren't for everyone...I think I just have a minor loathing for jagerbombs 'cuz that's *all* I ever hear anybody @ school talking about, and they are all convinced that there are no other drinks Smiley: laugh

That's not to say that I don't like the drink, 'cuz I do...just not that much Smiley: smile
