Delivery Zone

Final Fantasy XI (US) - Bismarck
ATTENTION: Due to the new restrictions cap on sending gil with the delivery box, we will need to meet your character at Jeuno Port for a face-to-face trade. Please be aware we may still have characters located in Windurst and San d’Oria without airship pass and would appreciate if you can travel to meet us (we will discuss this with you in game). This issue should only persist from Feb 21st until Feb 23rd. Thank you!
Delivery Now! (Normally within 30 to 40 minutes)

It takes gilsellers 2 days to walk to Jeuno and buy an airship pass?

If you are a (soon-to-be) gilbuyer, I hope your vacantion plans involve scenic Mordian Gaol! ^_^
With 1-on-1 trades like this, you might as well carry a neon sign stating your intentions.

I expect a bunch of new bans next months :)

All they'd have to do is hang out in front of the guidestone or AH in Port Jeuno. The trade will still be invisible to the other players.

However, if SE managed to identify a gil distributor, they could axe the account right away and (hopefully) remove however many millions of gil they on them, as opposed to when they could just create a 3-city mule, receive the gil from their home office, distribute it, and delete the mule.

The morale of this story is: you should've brought more gil before the patch!!!!
#7 Feb 22 2006 at 5:30 PM Rating: Decent
No, I'm pretty sure the moral is that Bastokans buy less gil than other people, so all honest people should immediately switch to Bastok.

or that the mule in Bastok already has an airship pass......

No I'm quite sure that it was a simple oversight on SE part while transcribing the notice from a secretary to a word processing program or some such other human error.

This is obviously working in phases, first they delete 300billion gil from all server-circulation. Now they deal this punch.

SE hits IGE for 150 points of damage!
SE scores a critical hit!
IGE takes 1669 points of damage.
........

whats next?

Nah, I'm sure that IGE would never discuss what they want with the person. The conversation would be something along the lines of this.

IGE: "Your package is ready. Please meet in Port Jeuno."
Gil-buyer: "Okay"
*IGE and Gil-buyer make a trade*

Ehh, something like that at least. I'm sure they would never openly discuss something like that and use vague sentences to keep it so GM's technically couldn't do anything other then witness a trade of gil from one person to the next... which for all they know could be someone trading money from a mule to their main character.

o.o;; Not that I have done this or anything, just saying I would doubt they are THAT stupid. D: I am too poor in real life to buy money in a game that would take me a whole 3 hours to farm anyway.

am glad SE made this move against these people who make our fun into there work. i think SE needs to get the gil farmers like kiikii and houhou cuz man these poeple r on all the time and r 75 with no Ls. though we might not be able to land a final blow to thees gil sellers since they sprint like a rdm/nin getting jump in ballista when they get caught up. ive also want to note that i see alot of new gil sellers " tiktik hbjc" who are still trying to gil farm using lvl 70- chacters prolly cuz they brought these accounts. SE should allow us to call GM on people who are well know Gil sellers cuz come on if ur name comes out on the AH history 12 times on a stack of rubies ur doing something.

anyhow i wish SE allowed PvP on NM pops cuz i would love to own a gil seller r 2. well i hope SE does that Skill chain soon on these gil sellers cuz i might be lvling war soon and i can afford a SH r harby. peace

I don't know if anyone had thought about the real money consequence of this.

I just checked IGE's site and the best deal they offer is $14.50-per-million-gil when you buy 50 million gil for $724.99. They took 300 billion gil of the economy, which means IGE basically had $4,349,940.00 in revenue removed from their bank account. Sucks for them.

Well IGE isn't the only place selling gil, also before the gillseller kill gill should've been cheaper, hence the crazy inflation. I don't know the extact amounts but I'd say it could've been 1/2 or 1/3 of the current value, which would be around 1-2 million for all servers and sellers. I have no idea how much of it is IGE, but still pretty substaintial

They still took $4.3M out of the industry. I understand that IGE and other gilsellers make big bucks, but the industry isn't so large that a $4.3M loss doesn't bring them to their knees.

According to the offical report the accounts that were canceled were players who used cheats, hacked into others' accounts and MPKs to make money. It wasn't technically a ban on RMT, just happen to affect them the most, since they tend to use these tactics more.

Thats right most of the accounts banned were people useing Warp hacks and what not. I personaly am glad to see them gone just as much as a gilseller cause their is nothing worse then camping a NM all day just for it to pop being claimed allready by a guy that has a warp hack on >.<
