Common Myths about HMNL:

1) A drama-free HMNL.

When pigs fly and water is dry.

2) A fair HMNL.

Nope. Leader>Officers>Members=Slaves.
Leader’s interests>Officers’ interests>Your interests.

3) HMNLs are like social shells.

Nope. Socializings => Arguments => Dramas.

4) People join HMNLs for fun.

Nope. 99/100 of the people joining HMNL are for items and so are you.

5) Fun in HMNL.

Nope. You probably have more fun partying in Valkurm Dune or camping Valkurm Emperor on the 0/11. You stay either because of the items or because of your friends.

6) You complain about how your HMNL works.

Nope. If you don’t like how it works, you leave. Officers and leader don’t give a crap. And they probably think that you’re whiny-puppy if you do.

Please add more,

(You probably can tell that I’m not a fan of HMNL ^^; )

Heh, I think you have pretty much everything right there... I had three HNM linkshells when I played, with all the problems listed in every one... -.-;; Actually I got kicked from one of those three because I had two other HNM linkshells...

It's so very true. I'm dating my LS leader online and I get away with sooooo much. We make sure we have time to exp though since we have the power to manipulate the schedule of our events. Feel free to send visit my profile or just search for Boloboh on ffxiplayers if the link doesn't work. I love you all and thank you for all the support

He's in a super cool HMNLNOS, and he wants to know how you fight Faust. Do you kite him or something?

But in all seriousness, this was kind of a waste of server space and bandwidth.

Wasn't my HNMLS, but I guess reading the ruleset of a LS before joining is overrated now?

And damn! Nobody told me those points when I joined my HNM LS nor when I became an officer! You mean I've been doing this all wrong all along?! Guess I better find my iron fist and start taking items.

Trigger, take a hint. Axes left on the grindstone too long whittle away to nothing.

I have no plans on joining one of these clown colleges myself. However most of the people I know who are in them with few exceptions seem to be quite happy in them despite them being solely formed out of avarice and despite MOST of them being pretty much summed up in the OP not everyone involved are complete jerks or con artists or whatever.

Just like everything in life you gotta take these things on a case by case basis. Just because you had a very bad experience or seem to think you did does not make them a bad thing, nor does it make anyone in them bad people. If you don't like these LS's don't join one.

There are plenty of people who find the idea of HNMLS's to be absurd or even damaging to the game itself. Myself, I could care less about HNM ********** If I wanted a second job I'd go out and get one that paid in real cash not gil.

On the subject of "Good" HNMLS's I am told that AD and TA are really friendly ones and are populated by some very good people why don't you apply for one of those shells I mean 90% of everyone I talk to could be wrong, however the probability of an LS with so many happy members being like the OP suggests (not saying he is talking about AD or TA) is kinda small if you ask me.

{Um...} in case you are wondering AD and TA stand for Arch Dominus (oh I know I spelled that wrong please don't kill me) and Tornado Alley.

All wrong! I think what OP mean by HMNL = Horny Men Need Loves.
HMNLs are common clubs that exist through out the World of Vana'diel where men gathered together with a same common goal/problem. After awhile of disscusion, they found one that seems more logic solution for them. Inorder to solve their problem, They spent 5-10 hours perday hunting and living in their pixeled world. By doing so they can paralyze their mind, leaves them no time to think about it as times go on. It is acturely an easy mathematic solution. Men has 24 hours to live each day. Aside from their 8-9 hours of job, 8 hours of sleep, it leaves them barely around 8 hours each day that will including lunch, dinner and everything people do everyday. Spent every sec they can offer in the beautiful World of Vana'diel leaves them no time to face or think about thier problems. Therefore, "problem solved".

TriggerXXX, I admire you bravery of tried to stand up and confront them. But mind if i remind you, their power in the World of Vana'diel is unmatched. They believe they have obtained the Absolute Power. They can and will destroy all those who tried to destroy their world of beauty, fortune, and fame while they sleep in their Loyal Bed with countless mannequins around them dressed up in their treasures they have hunted from all over the World of Vana'diel. Now you have exposed your identity, you will be seached and destroyed. So good luck.

Ok all fun, games and trolling aside...

Can someone please tell me what the hell that person is talking about? I mean c'mon I can understand that English is more than likely his/her second language, of course I'm not sure if stupid counts as an actual language or not if so then English is obviously his/her third language.

Please for the love of god step back and allow the trolling to be handled by the professionals. Thanks.

EDIT: Minor gramtical errors

P.S.

I have to give you points on H*rny Men Need Love, but the post just went south after that.

HNMLS isn't for everyone....it's YOUR monthly fee, so do with it what you will....but if you're the type of player that likes to get "the most" out of a game(which I would be so bold as to assume everyone is), then being affiliated with these groups is the ONLY way to do it....good luck on Dynamis, Sea, Sky, ground gods, wyrms, and various pop-HNM's without them....I'm just curious as to what SOLUTION(outside of SE completely re-creating their game) the OP can conjur up in that mind of their's....blindly complaining is the easy part....

That was just my sarcasm common on how most HNMLS works with one or two exception. Have you been in a HNMLS before? Do you know how it works? Do you know their high standard on what you need to do inorder to keep your place in the LS? Some LS even have requitement of how many hours minimun you have to contribute to the LS each week. If you can't do it, you are out. there isn't much differences than getting a second job. Favorism also plays huge role in most HNMLS. If your intention of join a HNMLS is for items. LS leader's c**k is where you should put your mouth on. That's already in OP's post.

People talk about how bad gilsellers are. If you ask me, HNMLS isn't much of difference than gilsellers. Gillseller wars exist, but so do HNMLS wars. Do you think HNMLSs like each other? why don't you go ask them yourelf? Gilsellers MPK, but so do some HNMLSs. It's just not as often and usually not using their real ingame character so they won't ruin their reputation. FFXI geeks have multiple accounts to handle these kinda matter and they can get away with it. Gilsellers camp same NMs everyday and manipulate items, but so do HNMLSs. But atleast gilsellers doing it as a job so they can have income to feed themself or maybe even their kids and family. HNMLS do it just to sactisfy their materialism in their pixel world. A player in a HNMLS even make common such as "If more people walks around with the same item i have, i won't feel special anymore". Why the f**k people care about what others are wearing? I spit on players like those.

Do you think each gilseller is actually a same player behide it 24/7? If you think so then you are probably incredible stupid or retarded because last time i checked, human can't live without some resting. They have shifts. 8 hours a day and they do it as a job. They don't give a sh*t about FFXI or their equitments. As for some hardcore players, they can easily beat that record anyday, any given time. hardcore players want items. Where can they get them? HNMLSs duh! I don't mean all hardcore players are bad, but some of them like to accuse others who can't "contribute" as much time as they do to the LS. They think you are a leecher. So there comes the LS dramma. Also some of those hardcore players likes to play revenge game of their own if you **** them off. That's why in the last post i warn TriggerXXX better be careful who he is dealing with. There has been multiple times where some HNMLS members harrassing players who pissed them off in game or on interenet. Who do you think you are dealing with people that plays a video game 8 hours or even more each day? My opinion is probably some school kids who have too much time in their hand. Mature behave from them? Maybe...

And finally to the question about "why am i comparing some HNMLS to gilsellers?" Because for those who hasn't even been in one before, talk about gilsellers they immidiately get the idea it's bad. And above is what i show you some common alike between gilsellers and some HNMLS. So before you come here common on something you know nothing of and tried to twist something that does exist into none, get some facts first. It exists on every server in FFXI. HNMLS is nice and sweet when there is only one in a server, when there are more and more of them sh*ts are all over the place.

Also one more thing i like to state is there are some really honorable HNMLSs who tried play nice. They are exceptions and don't do the same thing i said above. Well atleast they tried to ask their members not to. But unfortunatly, there are some bad players in every HNMLSs. It's hard to keep only good players in a HNMLS.To run a HNMLS, you need "New blood" for replacement almost every month. Why? Because alot times players only very active on events before they got the items they want from one HNM, they become less and less active for the same HNM unleast there is gil involved they can make off it. They only come when they feel like to. if there is no new members to replace the empty spot, you might find yourself hard to even gether enough members for Bigmouth Billy sometimes. Why do you think every HNMLSs always has their recruitment section open in their forum and always looking for some specific jobs every month? Their list for job demand changes every month too.

I can't believe i typed some sh*t this long. . . . . . . . . . But atleast i stay on topic.

Some typo, bite me. =)

Not my words, but....

Sucking Up

If you keep your nose stuck to someone else's backside, the probabilities of having a poor substance adorning your face goes up in direct proportion to the length of time plus the depth of the endeavor. In mathematical terms this would equate to sht=face + depth allowing for a proportionality factor of 1 and further allowing that force and velocity are null in the equation as it is undesirable to determine the the value of these elements.

If you don't like HNMLS' then don't join, none of the rules/regulations should be a shock to a person that joins.
Most all of these shells have posts regarding rules so that there are no surprises.

We don't see people complaining about social shells so why complain about HNMLS' it's just another way to play if it's not for you then fine, no one forced you to join.

I am waiting for the day a post like this comes along:

A post that doesn't exist... yet wrote:

Keep in mind, there's always an exception to the status-quo or standard. Look hard, there are groups out there that don't fit this stereotype.

And like I belive Cambria said, it's your 15-30 bucks a month, do with it as you please. Have fun with the game however you want. Remember, it's all a game. Why play a game if you're not having fun? That's what games are for.

My DRG status gives me immunity to HNMLS problems because they wouldn't want me even if I applied ;p

I will say AD gets some bonus points for the Bubbly Bernie fight though.

Careful who you call traitor - keep in mind I "have obtained the Absolute Power," and I will "seach and destroy" you since you have so callously "exposed your identity"!

Oh, but spoony? Guilty as charged.
