I heard there was a Nomad Moogle in Mhaura that mentions something about maps, I would assume he is selling the Bay map.

And, you cannot get to these zones from (just my logic, nothing I actually went out and surveyed for myself) unless you purchase the expansion pack. Which has not been released in NA as of yet. So, forget about the new zones for now. Why would they make and expansion pack for purchase if everyone could automatically use the new zones? I doubt they would allow you in them without the expansion pack.

EDIT: Yes, Ludwig sells the map.

I was in Mhaura this morning and right near the stairway to the docks was a guy named I think Ludwig, and a Moogle with him. The moogle, when spoken to, says "Don't buy more than one copy of the Bibiki Bay map!" or something to this effect. You get the map from Ludwig and, yes, unlike other bought maps, it doesn't disappear from his list if you talk to him again. Makes me wonder what's up with that...

There is a new set of armor for war/pld. It's lvl 29 and pretty good def for the level. The full set of normal quality adds +4agi +4vit. The HQ I've only seen one piece, but the head item is def14 agi+2. So pretty nice for tanks =) It also looks really nifty. I was strutting around showing off the fashion at Bastok AH last night hehe.

as far as buying two maps, thats some sort of glitch.

i check to see what the maintencance for today and here is the details (paste/copied) from the "Details on Current Known Issues" in the headlines on FFs website.

[The following issues have been discovered and are being addressed:

-The craftsman signatures on equipment synthesized before the Sep. 13, 2004 version update are not being displayed properly. This issue does not affect the functionality of the equipment in any way, and signatures will not be lost unless the item is sold on auction.

-Players are able to purchase the key item "a map of Bibiki Bay" multiple times. While this issue does not affect gameplay, there will be no refunds made to players who have bought more than one copy of the map.

-Speaking with the NPC Marin in Bastok Markets causes the game to freeze, preventing players from continuing their adventures. Until this issue is addressed, the NPC in question will be removed from the area.

-While performing a FINAL FANTASY XI file check, a "polboot.exe" error appears when there is no actual error. This issue does not affect gameplay.

Square has in the past been known to use Moogles to convey system messages to people who have somehow otherwise missed it. During the AH maintenance a few weeks ago, there was a Moogle in front of the Houses explaining that they (and the Delivery Boxes) were currently inaccessible. I found it a bit redundant, but someone probably found it helpful.
