Well I see we have a lot of higher level posters here, and me being a lower level one, PLD 26 atm. I think that a leveling guide might be a nice feature to have here in the forum. I know each time I have hit a certain level in an area, I get the you need to go to xxx next. Well I would like to be able to plan thing out a bit better. So I put this to the rest of you. Where do you go at level X, and why?

The places I know are;
Lvl: 1-10 - Close to towns, ERon-Wron, ESar-WSar, NGust-SGust
Lvl: 10-20 - The Dunes, everyones fav :o
Lvl: 20-25 - Qufim
Lvl: 25-30,32 - Kazham

Now after this I have heard the Citidel or E-Altep desert. I don't know as my first job, War, is only at 30 and is relageted to sub until it needs upping.

You can also do Battalia Downs from 25-30, just a pain to get a party there unless your in a LS or Static.

And from what I hear (I haven't gotten that far)...You can do much of Altepa Desert from like 30-40.

Our static is camping the Revelation Rock in Western Altepa Desert on Beetles from 41ish to 44 (we'll ding 45 tonight and will be moving on). The place is great, nobody there, tons of good camps in the little cracks at the base of the rock, and no shortage of mobs.

There's also a good leveling guide on the Mystery Tour Website that gives good information about the locations and the mobs that you need to pull. Here is the link: http://mysterytour.web.infoseek.co.jp/ffxi/us/

Go to "Tips" in the top navigation bar, and then to "Hunting Place" in the left navigation bar.

Hope this helps!

This is great, not only for my information, but I think for others as well. Anyone else wanna share any spots?

I can forsee an influx of new players with CoP coming out, and I think that this info here will help, at least those who came here.

Maybe 15-20, but any lower than that, and you'd have a hard time getting there. Yeah, some of the ballsier of us have made expeditions to other nations at Lv. 10 (or less :X), but the majority of people don't have the temerity for that, nor should they *NEED* to.

I kinda think it's a little crazy to expect all Lv. 14+ residents of Windurst to negotiate Buburimu to get to Valkurm to level. Yeah, it's doable, but it's not easy, especially since you're still learning how to play the game at that level.

Some spots worth mentioning:

Korroloka Tunnel Lvl 15 (14 if a mage) to 19/20. Easy to level off of worms and chain them really well as long as your PT doesn't mind the moving around.

I had a two ninja party in here which meant nearly zero downtime for 4 hours and 3 levels of exp. If you're a white mage, buddy up with a ranger and duo the worms here till 20.

Sea Serpent Grotto Lvl 31 to 35, if you can get a PT to come out here it's a great way to avoid the hassles of Garliage. However, this area only supports about 2-3 PTs. Most people pull Crabs and the occasional Ghast here. Just make sure that everyone you bring has a way of having Sneak on them and if you expect trouble bring someone with Tractor.

Yhoator Jungle Lvls 45/46 to 48, near the zone to Ifrit's Cauldron. This is great exp and an easy zone. Just be careful of multiple PTs as you will tend to step on each others toes through the course of pulling as the camp zone is one long wide trail with boulders. You fight goblins here (and generally nothing but).

Altepa is good around 31-34ish on beetles and dhamels. Some people fight spiders there at a slightly lower level, but I don't have first-hand experience. The camps don't support more than 2 parties though, so don't cramp it. :P

Quicksand Caves is good for mid to upper 40's. Spiders, beetles, and Anticans are all good XP marks if you know what you're doing. You can also hit up another entrance in your upper 50's for more Spider and Antican action.

Gustav Tunnel is great for XP right around level 40. Goblins and Flies are your main targets, but there are also a few greater bats around. Again, you can come back in your upper 50's for Goblins and Crabs.

Teriggan is also good 63-65, chaining Gobs and Raptors for fair XP and killing Cockatrice for big numbers.
