So, we have the Jerrys, and we have the Zooeljs. Now we have the Tom's. There's a series of Tom** players in the Windurst area now (Tomaa, Tombb, Tomcc, etc). They started just a few days ago, and they're already up to mid-Valkurm levels, so they're probably 24/7 swap-out players... O.O

The Toms seem a bit more organized as well, I saw them fighting outside of Windy last week, they have aa thru ff and there are 2 wars, a thief, a RDM, a BLM, and a WHM. Looks like the perfect group for doing just about anything.

^^ I saw the redapples too!! A whole bunch of them were on lastnight. All Rank 1 with incredibly underleveled sub jobs...

They're all coming out of the woodworks now :(

I've never seen the Redapples, but I have seen the Toms. XD The other day Tombb and Tomcc ran by and I'm like, "oh, more gil farmers." (-__-)

*heh* A bunch of players should team up with similar names and see how many people think they're gil farmers. ^~*

Wait hold the phone for a minute do you mean to tell me that there are people in the game that get paid to play the game and make gil to sell on these dumbass gil selling websites?

Not that I support gil farming, but that would be my ideal job...getting paid to play a video game.

Eitherway, can't we figure out a clever way to start ganging up on the gil farmers? Massive trains are one way I can think of, however not very creative ^^

Stop paying outrageous AH prices, have some patience, don't buy online. That's about all you can do to prevent the negative effects of the gilfarmers. They thrive on making more money than they should for things they farm, and obviously they won't exist if nobody buys gil online.

We were in Valley of Sorrows doing Velociraptors at lvl 58-59 and the xp was only 115-180 for up to chain 4.
There was a PT near us doing raps and Perytons. 3 Galks and 3 Tarus. They were all lvl 63/31 and they seemed to know how to play the game, doing SC and MB and all but they were obviously not there for xp.

I went to the AH to sell the rap skins that I got and I noticed the last 5 sales were sold by Uuuu, Kkii Kkii, AooAoo, **** and 1 more(forgot name), This was the PT near us. They didnt bother us outside of taking xp kills away from the area for people needing it and they did know how to play but it makes you wonder.

You actually have a point there, Tweed...one I have considered in the past.

Let's take Argus, for example. Infrequent spawn time, extraordinarily valuable drop, small spawn area and ALWAYS camped by at least one Jerry, typically several. My idea is this.

Just do a massive camp. Have a member or two of your LS, set, buddy list, whatever...camp it and figure out a spawn time. Once a generally acceptable time has been established, get about 10 to 15 people in your LS or whomever to camp it when the Jerrys are there. That room is sooo small it would SIGNIFICANTLY lower the Jerrys' chances of even claiming the spawn. This should frustrate them after awhile and they will do something else.

Why? Because if they are paid to play and make gil to sell online, they most likely have a quota. If you do something to greatly decrease their chances of making that gil doing a certain task, they will simply move on and find something else to do.

it's an interesting conundrum.
i had several thoughts, but none really would stop the gil farmers. only slow them down, and the expense of the "real" players...
