has anyone tried this? It seems the biggest problems would be finding a spot which can support the increased rate of pulling and the problem of group spells/songs hitting the group. I am interested in trying this to make a more interesting static party.

From the looks of the exp formulas, it seems as long as the alliance doesn't get much bigger than 6, the exp can still be good.

Let me hear you ideas or experiences with this. Thanks!

Interesting...very interesting idea...

It sounds like it might just work. Possibly have three or four people in one allience, and four in another?

There was a post in another board about this. It was bashed to hell.
It might be a good idea with 7 or 8 EXPERIENCED players, but with pick ups it's only a dream. Those 2 extra people would have to be DDs or another DD and a tank, to make up for the lost exp you'd basically have to be fig hting 2 mobs at the same time, and though you can achieve higher exp chains this way, it seems too risky to to even try.
-edit-
Spelling, blargh.

I was in an alliance exp party with 8 people once (6 were JP). Basically the first alliance had 6 people (NIN, DRK, RDM, BRD, BLM, WAR/NIN) and the other alliance had two thieves. The thieves would just constantly be SATA off the NIN and WAR/NIN while the BLM and DRK beat the enemy down. No real need for curing, but I (the RDM) took care of the random cures that were needed and just kept up the haste/refresh/enfeeble cycle. The BRD did his BRD thing and we were constantly Chain 5s. About 5-6k an hour. I know 6 people parties can get that, but they're rare. It was hardly a "mad dash" to get Chain 5. We just did what we did on the first enemy.
