I have sad news ; ;

My bf is temporarily leaving FFXI soon. He's been accepted to stress test WoW.

I realise it's only for a week, then he'll have to wait it out for the beta test or the actual release but what if...what if he likes WoW more than FFXI? He'll be gone for good, no more parties, no more free teleports (ok a little selfish lol) but it would still be a huge change from my usual gaming experience.

I'm just now wondering, how many more wonderful bismarck players are we going to be losing, temporarily or permanently, to WoW.

(Admitedly, if we had a second computer at home I too would be doing the stress test and giving WoW a shot, but since we only have one, he'll be having all the fun ; ;)

and don't forget about the release of EQ2 as well!! I personally would rather play with true FFXI fans rather than the people who just jump on the band wagon for a new MMORPG!!

I too will be staying :)

Ugh. Theres no way I'm touching WoW.

Not that I think it looks bad - I'm pretty well convinced at this point its going to be awesome. But... I already have one ridiculous time/money sink in FFXI. Another would flat out kill me :P

Heh. And damned if I'm leaving before I'm strutting around in Bard AF.

LoL. Bauka!! Long time no see!

He will definitely return the rings (if he doesn't I will, promise).

*The only reason he is taking a break is because he got bored of his non-stop XPing trying to catch up to my BLM so we can pt again, since he recently changed main jobs. Otherwise, he is very much devoted to FFXI.

There's one thing XI has that WoW will never have - dual-platform capability. As long as I can play this game with my wife, we won't be leaving.

I got into the stress test. waiting for it to start. Warcraft has alot to it that i love, and wit hthe stress test its alittle week to check the game out. i really miss PvP from DAoC. was never a "leet" killer, but i loved sitting in the top of a keep with a treb armed and blowing people up.

FF11 is moveing to get a little PvP going. i have not played balista. i should check it out, but i don't think many people play it on Bismarck anymore

Pfft. Going to WoW from FFXI is like leaving your girlfriend for a chimp with an inferiority complex. It just don't work.

This is my first MMORPG, and will probably only be my only one due to the fact that I've always been a FF fan. Now, that being said, after Friday, September 3rd, I have no idea when I'll be on again because college is starting up again for the year. Hopefully once I get back into the swing of things I'll be able to set aside time to goof off on Bismarck. Shouldn't be too much of a problem since I'm always goofing off. lol

I got accepted for the stress test as well. Though for now i have no intention of leaving FFXI.

The release for WoW is still months away so i wouldn't worry too much.

I have spent way too much money on this time/money sink of a game. ^^; I will stay, thank you.

P.S. I have made a bunch of friends on this game. I can only imagine what they would do to me if I left.

[Angry mob of former FF11 friends]- There she is!
[Me]- Please no! Not that, not there! ; ;

I personally can't wait for WoW and EQ2, our server is over populated. And, I'd much rather play with people that love Final Fantasy the series as much as I do.

He'll see the light soon enough and come back to you.

And if he doesn't, you can at least beat him with a banana tree.

LoL Beat him with a Banana tree :) Sounds like fun.

P.S. He started playing WoW last night and so far he's none too impressed. He only gave it about 5 minutes before heading right back to FFXI^^

I think I'll stick around just to /wave to people from the forums... Nah, really, I have absolutely NO desire to play anything else (except D&D every other weekend) Now, if the came out with a Shadowrun MMORPG... I'd have to consider quitting my job so that I'd have enough time to play both.
