My Sincerest Apologies to Apathy...Follow

#1 Sep 01 2004 at 7:35 AM Rating: Default
My static met for the first time yesterday around 6:30 central time. One member wasn't there and we weren't able to get ahold of her. We give her about 45 min and decide that we need to find a replacement so I do a /sea all level 43 and there's Apathy, a BLM, perfect replacement for our missing BLM.

I ask her if she's willing to party with us and she says yes, warps from Windy to Jeuno and we Teleport to Altep. The journey to our camp takes another 15 min or so and we get started.

We're about 4 kills into it and things are going well and our BLM makes it on and now I'm stuck. Our BLM was stuck in traffic, 3 car pileup on the way home made her late for our group, an understandable circumstance, it could have happened to any one of us.

I tell Apathy the situation and also let her know it's her call if she leaves or not (this was all using /tell rather than party chat). Our RNG goes and pulls another beetle and Apathy warps out (No I'm not mad at that, we were fine to handle it on our own, I think it points out how frustrated she was with me) and sends me a tell a few minutes later saying "Next time wait for your BLM, this is irritating".

I wanted to apologize formally to her, I don't know if she reads these forums or not but maybe someone who knows her does and I wanted to show that I do feel bad about what happened and hope that she isn't too terribly upset with me. I'm not intending to demonize anyone with this post, I believe the only one in the wrong here was me, as I'm the one who created this situation in the first place.

really Wintaru a sorry is all that should be needed. i hope you arn't beating yourself up over this all that much. each side was right. you where right for finding a replacement. i mean you waited 45min. and the blm was fine with being a little pissy. am sure he/she is sorry for the way they acted after the fact. but i hope they understand how a static party works. about how much of a comitment it is and how real life just lovest to make speed bumps in our silly game comitments and all that

Man that sucks... My static mostly consists of RL friends, and we all go on Ventrilo, and we all work together. If someone isn't online, it's easy for us to know why.

But yeah, I understand where you're coming from and my heart goes out to the parties involved~

I think that's why I'm so torn about it, is there isn't a clear "right" answer here. I just hate making enemies in this game (or even just pissing people off), and I sent an apology to her last night via /tell but never got a response. Anyone who knows me knows I'm easy going and try to help out and treat everyone with respect, so I like to have incidents like this sorted out so I know everyone's ok.

Someone in our LS called our BLM but there was no answer so we were kinda torn what to do. I'm thinking we should have waited looking back (hindsight is 20/20) but at least I know what I'll do in the future ^^

I also don't think the BLM who left acted in the wrong in anyway, just in case my post came across sounding like that.

actually, if you are in a set 6 person PT and 1 person doesn't show, to me that means you don't go XP.

Otherwise what is the point of a set?

Which is the lesson I learned yesterday. The only x factor is that our blm is 43 and the rest of the group is 42 so we were thinking that we could just to a little catching up to her. In the future we will just cancel the party for the night.

I totaly agree with TseTsuo 100% if you're a set your a set. And when you decide to EXP without members you will break apart. All in do fairness you were trying to catch up to you're BLM and it's seems like you now understand the meaning behind a set party now. But word of advise, if this ever happens again take the night off do some crafting or my favorite fishing. Because boys and girls this game's not all about exp partying. Take you're time and enjoy the game.

That's why we started the set, it's basically people who don't want to XP constantly lol. Once we were all there it was great, we were joking around and having a great time. I just mainly posted this to show that I felt bad about what happened, at least I learned something^^
