Hopefully there are those that are new to the game and read this, along with other posts in this forum and site.

Now by no means am I an authority on the game, I have been playing a few months now and have come to see a trend in leveling. I see shouts asking for power leveling in town, and while in the dunes the rush to get the best xp possible every fight. Well my first trip thru the dunes as war was sorta the same. Second trip thru as mnk was a bit more easy going.

I am now on my third time thru the dunes, this trip is pld, and tonight I had 2 great pt's. The XP per fight wasn't huge, but, and this is the important thing, it was consitent. In both pt's there was very little, mostly no, downtime between fights. I see alot of players wanting to rush to higher levels, yes I want to get there too. But I am now not that much in a hurry to get there at the expense of my combat skills and more important my fighting/pt'ing experience.

If you are new to the game, there is no fast track to higher levels. You will be missing out in something, lacking in combat skills, mages skills or knowing how pt's flow. When your in the dunes, this is the place that you need to start learning how to do skillchains, something that my first time thru I had no idea on till I hit Qufim. Get your sub-job fully leveled. I had a friend that only took mnk to 5, for boost. I told him that your going to have a hard time getting pt's in Qufim and higher unless you take it to 15. His route, as mine is war/mnk > pld/war.
