Urg...Casinos. >.<!Follow

Just wondering if anyone else is getting uber-fast with their /blist add somerandomnewb. I know I am, and it makes me sad to have to do it.

For those of you living under a rock, I mean new trend of people starting up casinos in town using the in-game /random as a way of betting. (Or something like that...I don't pay attention anymore.) I personally find it annoying and blist every one of them as soon as their shout pops up on my screen.

What's worse than Casino spam is when someone wins big, and the House can't pay up.

Hiptaru was in San D'oria a few days ago. Hit the jackpot, only to find the guy couldn't cough up the dough. The zone was filled with shout commands demanding payment or insulting the Casino owner and a whole lot of /slap. And Hiptaru wasn't the only one! They had a whole team gangin' up on the guy... I almost felt bad for him : (

But meh, I guess it IS his own fault.

Is there actually anything that can be done about this? I've heard it argued that it's against the TOS. I need to poke around that agreement and see if it's there... I need something to do at work.

Meh, Hiptaru should have enough gil now >< Yesterday I played one casino game with some random guy in port and won 15K. Then later at night right before I log, and friend and I see Hiptaru's shout and decide to go give it a shot. I go up to him feeling a little brave and bet 20k... Dice rolls and I won again^^ . Then my friend goes and bets 5k and loses ><. I gotta tell you after wining twice in this game I was feeling pretty good and decide to play Hiptaru's game again. This time I bet 30k... dices rolls and I lose, argh. At this point I feel like I broke even and wanna play again to leave with something extra... So I play that evil taru's game again, wtf was I thinking.. I should have just left then, but I didn't. I place a bet this time of 40k and guess what happened? Ohhh noooz I lost ><. Determined to get my gil back I play yet again like the fool I am. I dunno what exactly was going through my head at this point, maybe it was late, maybe I'm just stupid, i figured I couldn't lose 3 times in a row?? But wanted my gil back. The bet this time 100k O.o; Dices rolls ................. 33 WTF aaarrggghhh! Never, I mean never again am I gonna gamble ; ; that was suppose to be my Water4 gil. Hehe oh and hi I'm new to these forums^^, I'm normally over at ffxionline forums but I saw this topic and just had to reply.

I use 2 computers when I'm playing, one for a fisherman (not a bot!) and one for Tweed, the fisherman is in Bastok leveling atm and it has got to be the worst place EVER that I have ever been in the game. The casinos pop up ever night and I blist them all, and they keep coming!

And the wrost error message ever:
/blist add <insertcasinomofo>
Cannot perform this command while fishing.

Arg.

I must say... Casinos are spreading! It was always just something you randomly saw before....but now there are two or three people in every zone by Jeuno shouting ...it is getting out of control!!!

I even had someone ask me to place bets in Qufim the other day and couldn't understand why I said no!

If you look at the odds these people are setting up....most of them are a total rip off anyway!!! They are just out there to make money by shouting so don't fall for it!!! It is a total scam! And yes there are ways to break their little system just keep doubling your bet until you win....but then they have limits on what you can bet so if you have really bad luck...you are out a ton of gil and if they see how you are betting they will probably just say something like "casino closed now"!!! If nobody plays maybe they will go away........

No, even if you tell all your friends, and your friends tell all their friends, and they tell their dogs, cats, and moms, people will still bet.

Why? Because people are dumb.

The best thing to do is figure out if it's against TOS and GM them all.

They do it on the airships too now, and at outposts. I'm seriously considering leaving my shout filter on permanantly (I'm so sure I spelled that wrong ><) now thanks to these people.

You guys wana hear something really funny... I did not notice there were casinos... lol... dead serious! until i read this post I would not have ever noticed. I did notice people doing /random alot when I go to the cities, but luckily i just ignored it, walked to my house, walked to the AH, then left for the dunes to level sam... I actually had to go tonite to Bastok to see what all this casino complaining was about... when i get there all i see is people doing /random... so i sit there for about 10 mins trying to see what everyone was complaining about... then i realized something... i cut my shout filter on last month and never cut it back on... long story short... annoying shouts dont bother those that cant hear them...

Yeah i ran into one at the Bomingo Round in windy. (It was my fault to begin with i just want to make sure no one else falls in this pit of a scam like i did because it seems like it will pay off but in reality it doesn't.) I bet 500 gil and I won then i bet 1k and won so i started with 3k (which isn't much compared to others) and got 4.5k (which still isn't much) then i wa slike ok i want 5k so i bet 1k and lost did it again lost kept doing it til i had 20gil remaining. The guys was like Don't waste my time with small bets. At first he said max bet is 2k then i won like 4 times in a row and then he changed it to 1k max bet.Then when i got down to 20 gil he was like i need to make it minimum bet 500 gil i was like wtf? And yes I have a gambling addiction yes i do. i will be the firs tone to admit it. But I learned my lesson I ended up with about little over 1k after the whole ordeal. But yeah I agree that these should be banned but as long as people like me give in and play they will be there. So from this point on i will never gamble in Vanadiel again. And I hope others just like me will do the same to stop people from running this scam business. I was also shocked to learn tha tpeople actually sponsor these casinos. Oh and about Hiptaru, I was camping Lizzy and he was running his casino at the Fumaroles so what me and a couple others did was ok he was doing a little auction so we were messing with him and he got uber annoyed like i told him I would give him boots for this prize and he assumed it was leaping boots and I told him I never said which boots. I just liked messing with him that is what he gets for trying to scam people.

Is there a way to maybe band together and vote these casinos out of the cities? And say u can't do it in the vicinity of any city but they can do it outsid eof cities? Just wondering.
