I'm sorry you had a bad experience in Sandy. If i recieve personal requests instead of shouts, usually i will lend someone gil if they need it ^^. I don't know exactly how it happened, but it seems like Sandy has now officially acquired more 12-year-olds than Bastok =(. Also everyone seems to be a bit pressured now since we are, for the first time in my memory, 3rd in the conquest point race.

Sandy has been this way ever since I have played the game. The gambling thing is annoying, and seems to be a recent development, but the /shouting ignorance has always been in Sandy.

Yeah, Sandy's been this retarded when it comes to shouts for ages. The gambling just made it worse..
The town itself is still my favorite, though. Bastok's too... Um... I dunno.. Mountainy, Windy's too big and looks like the Wildlife Park, and Jeuno's too bland and crowded.
I'd switch back to Sandy from Bastok if I didn't have rank 5 in Bastok. =/

Wow, I thought the gambling thing was bad in Jeuno. I was in Lower Jeuno last night and a guy named Drebond kept spam shouting:

Wow people must love this guy. You have a 3/10 chance of even making some money. The odds are really in your favor lol. For the most part it is annoying, but it is even worse when some of these idiots are spamming in Qufim or Valkurm.

*is glad she's from Windurst* I have yet to see Casinos there and people are pretty nice. I give people gil if they're short and it's not too much (because I'm pretty poor myself. ;_;) I find there's just a lot of immaturity in-game in general. You get people who think it's cool to talk lik3 ur all dat yo! And have no respect for other players at all. I won't even party with people like that. ^^;

I forget who it was, but I saw a casino in Bastok that really annoyed me - Not only was the guy advertising in /shouts, but whenever someone participated, he /shouted the wager and the results. Ugh...talk about annoying...

Personally I have had no problems in Sandy usually the people I run into are fairly nice. Sorry you had to run into one of them not so nice people ; ; had it been me I would have given you some gil .. not saying only ten cause I tend to get carried away sometimes ^^;

San D'oria has always been the nubles begger spot... Last 5 times I have gone in there, I have been asked for money (like I ever have any as a ninja). When I refused to hand over 5k, I got called a ****** o.O. With that said I'd much rather be a windurstian than a sandorian as I am now. Overall just windy better *shrugs*. You can never head into sandy without people shouting something idiotic 50times over and over again until you eventually leave or logout. I believe it was just 2 weeks ago when I saw a level 1 thief shout "can sum1 pl me plz!?!?!?" about 10832748932751905 times. I ended up ignoring it, not that many people were like me with responses of "just shut up!" and "go level yourself", but he kept at it until I logged. Everything you put up on the AH eventually gets undercut and doesn't sell, so I just stopped selling things there. Shout for free equipment is always annoying, and with the casinos it just got worse. If I can avoid san d'oria, I do. It just gets on my nerves!
Nothing against san d'oria itself or people there, just it seems more nub-full than valkurm (if thats even possible).

South San d'Oria's open space, and park like setting draw people to it, alas this means more jerks/idiots concentrated in one area than probably any place buy the dunes. None of the other starting cities quite have this same type of feel.
San D'oria isn't that bad! When I needed to complete the 2nd half of 2-3 in Ghelsba, I headed straight for town and ended up finding help within two days. I don't know if that's good time or not, but it was good enough for me.
However, the party turned out to be mostly Bastokan and Windurstian. I don't recall seeing the Sandy flag in the Member list, but I'm certain there must have been at least one.

ALL shouting casinos get added to my b/list pronto...no exceptions. Now it is beginning to get quiet again :) Except lower jeuno of course. But Lower Jeuno is full of all kinds of shouts asking for all kinds of things and thats fine. Even there though All shouting casinos get the /blist treatment. I have played this game since March and had an empty /blist untill the last few weeks when this betting thing started. Last night I saw a casino shout out in the zone...I mean c'mon...gimme a break. I figure eventually I'll get them all on my list...Hope they never need a raise.

to tell you the truth i think all teh nice/smart ppl that are in sandy are in port any ways and thats where i go. I love teh lay out there and you usely don;t see that many annoying shouts.
