Was wondering if this is possible. I am currently a citizen of Sandy, and when I get my PLD flag was thinking of doing my training in windy, been woorking cooking too. Can I change my citizenship to Windy then swap back to Sandy. I assume that if I do my mog storage will be availible in Windy. Also does my current CP stay with me or since it would be a new country does it start at 0?

Im currently in the process of getting rank 10 in every city. So i got to know a little about changing cities.

First, theres a hefty price:

If the city you are moving from is top ranked, like when i moved from Windy to Sandy 2 weeks ago, it costs 12k to move to the second ranked, and 4k to the third.

Moving to the top ranked city will cost you 40k.

Therefore you should wait for a week were Windy is second, or much more rarely third.

In terms of everything you got that is specific to city (rank supply runs, CP points, everything is saved on record, but you cannot access it until you go back to that city.

Thats about it really. If you are plannin to lvl Pld, id stick to Sandy, the CP armor and weapons reward is much more tailored for PLD/DrK/WAR

Thats about all i can think of atm.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the info.

I do have some of the CP armor from WAR. One of reasons I wanted to do Windy was so I can do a bit easier wind crystal farming and crawlers out there. Also since I did WAR and MNK in Sandy, I am a bit sick of WRon and ERon. Was hoping that the change of scenery would make things go a bit faster. I have a coule of other chars in Sandy and it seems everytime I play them to lvl them up its like "Ugh not here again".

if you change allegiance, say from Windurst to Bastok, do you lose
all of your previous nation's conquest points, thus, starting at 0
for your new nation?

and can you change back, if you so desired?

Yes and No...

You dont lose them. They are simply stored away and not available.

When i switched from Windy to Sandy, i had about 60000 cp points available. Right now, ive got barely enough to purchase a Instant Warp scroll... i prolly have 600 or so.

When ill switch back to Windy, after getting rank 10 in Sandy and Bastok, ill have my 60000 cp points available again.

Its the same for all the supply quests you ran: i cannot teleport to any outposts nor can i Teleport from outposts to Sandy. (I had most of them done under Windy, very useful way to move around) I am not planning to do any of them, since ill be reverting to Windy once im done.

AS for xping in East and West Saru, you dont need to change alligiances to xp there. You simply go to the city, open your mog house there, set Home Point in Woods, and go bash on stuff.

hmm, interesting.

seems almost worthwhile (and cheaper) to switch nations, earn the
the CP needed for the Republican Mantle ^^ then switch back to
windurst again ^^

Republican Mantle sounds like a crafted item made from CP stuff, but meh. Remember, It'd cost you probably 40k to switch back to Windy. I have no idea on the price of the item you want, but it may be cheaper to just buy it. :P

EDIT: Never mind, ignore this post. I looked it up and saw that it is CP and is EX. =P

It's EX. ><

It can only be obtained with Rank 6 and 24,ooo Conquest
Points, if you are a Bastokian, double that (48,ooo CP) if you are
from another nation, and your nation is first at the time of
intended purchase.

Republican Army Mantle
http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?fitem=2405

so, it does seem easier (and cheaper) to simply change allegiance,
earn the required CP, purchase said item, then change back. ^^

at least i hope.

In this specific situation, it could be done, considering switching to Bastok will only cost you 4k (since they are consistenly last)

On the other hand... remember how fast signet wears off at rank 1?

Well, you need rank 5(?) to get the item anyway. XD

I know this is a noob question but besides jakc up teh prices you pay to set your homepoint at a hp spot your nation doesn't own and get you better gear from CP what else does rank really do?

Well for starters people usally go by rank when inviting ppl (i know i do) For example there is 3 Whms LFG and they are rank 2 rank2 and rank7 i will invite the Rank7 since i hope he knows what he does ;) Other then that you get diffrent things and get acesses to diffrent quests/missions and other things with rank.
Most desiarble is probably Rank5 for Airship pass ;)

signet lasts longer at higher ranks... very very handy for long xp parties in the beastman zones when you want to accumulate CP... i think it's just your RANK + nation's ranking...

for example:
Bastok Rank 4.. Bastok in 2nd place (miracle)
4 + 2 = 6 hours of signet between recasts. So that's the ONE good point of being from Bastok, is you always get an extra hour or two of signet since we're always in 2nd or 3rd :/

/cry; /cheer
