Many days when I'm surfing ZAM, I get error messages along the lines of "Service Temporarily Unavailable" roundabouts 11PM EST.
I assume it's something simple like your server rebooting, but really, if that's it, you could totally push that to 5AM EST, when your primary audience of North Americans are fast asleep.
And if it's not something planned.... then maybe you should investigate it. I'll try to get an exact error message next time it happens.

It's definitly not a reboot. It might be some of the larger database jobs starting to do things though. Some of them are quite large and require enough off hour time to finish, We have also been having some minor server quirks recently (error processing this directive, etc. )

I'm getting occasional "Internal Server Error" messages once in a while as I try to navigate through the forums. Been happening over the last five or so minutes. Approximately 4:30am Mountain time.
Ya, it happens to me pretty regularly. Every night that I'm browsing the forums at 11pm EST. (Pretty usual time for me, right before I go to bed).
From about 11PM EST to 11:15-11:20PM EST any zam.com or allakhazam.com page is unavailable. Usually a 503 or an [error occurred while processing this directive]. Sometimes it's only 5 minutes or so but like today it took until almost 11:20PM EST for the site to become available again.
I remember there being a thread about this before. I think which ever admin responded took some notes and ended up splitting up the server maintenance stuff to alleviate the server load at the specific times.

Ok Im getting the same thing every night for the last few days 9:59-10:10 CST or so. I get 503 Error, its not a huge deal just kind of annoying i have no clue whats going on. Just figured I would say something.
Same thing has been happening to me. I'm CST also and about ten o'clock I sometimes get the "an error occurred while processing this directive". It lasts anywhere from 2-10 minutes. The other night it happened a bit later, maybe 10:15pm. I'm not really bothered by it, but just curious why it might happen.
Seems that various maintenance related things start up at that time, and bog down the servers.

The devs are aware of the issue, and are looking for a fix. Best guess is its something from the legacy side of the site thats pissed at something in the newer areas. It has not been sucessfully tracked down as of yet, but people are looking for it.

So far this week the slowdown seems to have split into two. One at 11pm EST and one at 11:15pm EST. Tonight's at 11:15 was a bit longer than the previous two nights, I assume something else happened tonight.
Just reporting in case they tried changing something.

I guess technically I'm in EDT now, not EST, but you get the idea.
