Can a admin check into a possible karma camping?Follow

it looks as if someone defaulted all my posts in this thread for no reason

10 posts all defaulted but the 2 on the page before are good/decent virtually no difference in the posts no reason to rate em all down

If I had to guess, I'd say it's how you write your posts. No real attempt to capitalize sentences (or punctuate them, in some cases), as well as the somewhat frequent usage of "lol" amongst other things can draw the ire of many a poster on here.

I don't think I was the first to rate 'em down, but I was definitely the one to knock most 'em down to 'Default'. The above was the reason. Lazy, stream-of-consciousness, run-on sentence, sans-capitalization, "lol"-riddled writing annoys me.

Not a camping thing, I just saw a stream of such posts, and rated accordingly. I've moved on.

I'd say the youtube link giveaway thread was the real reason. Pretty sure you had one outside the General Game forum that had some negative replies from a few of the lurking regulars. While I don't think I've hit the down arrow on any of them, I can't say I haven't been tempted.

I blame the low post count spammers that post vaguely on topic replies to ongoing threads not in response to any particular post for making people here quick to attack people.

Someone rate the above down also, the apathy is annoying.

yes but he has been camping me for like a month this is just the first time i said anything cause it was 10 posts in a row.

And IIRC though i haven't read the rules in a while so they may have changed but the definition of karma camping was "if someone rates all your posts down in a thread that's karma camping"

not those exact words but still of that we'd both be guilty even though he did it first 2 wrongs don't make a right i admit but i cant change my actions i did when i was mad.

If someone is purposely seeking you out in order to rate you down without taking the posts into consideration, that's camping. If all of your posts in a thread are poorly written, hard-to-read drivel, well that's justified in my book, as long as each post is considered on its individual merits. How you present yourself to others has a direct effect on how they react to you. This may not be an "English 101" forum, as you said, but it is a community of people who appreciate posts that don't make your eyes bleed as you try to parse what the writer is trying to say. You've run into this before on your other account, tetsuol, I'm sure. You could make the argument that the content of your post should matter more than how it's presented, and maybe you're right. But, if it's harder to glean that content because it's presented poorly, well, people are going to act on the presentation.

Really, it's not that difficult. I'm not saying that you have to run your posts through an MLA Style Guide before you hit the "Post" button, but clear breaks between sentences, a basic grasp of capitalization, and the elimination of "lol" from your forum-posting vocabulary will go a long way.

Protip: On these forums, you can use a instead of "lol" and nobody will care.

Hows about you guys stop charging my credit card for premium to an account i don't even use nor have access to anymore? hmm

Been going on for awhile and cheek the logins.. <- no access

Or better yet refund all the past months of payments you've taken when i no longer even have the registered email thus cant even retrieve the account. . .

BTW thanks spoon for reminding me abt tetsuol otherwise i would of forgot and let them keep taking my money.

Contact accounts@allakhazam.com and explain the situation. They will be able to cancel the premium membership. They might even be able to refund since you haven't logged into the account, though since you forgetting your password and forgetting your yahoo e-mail password really isn't our problem, maybe not. Perhaps you should try annoying them first and see if that helps.

If his posting ability is any indication, his reading ability is about at the level that seven sentences *is* a wall of text. He should try reading Gbaji sometime...

Time to buy a monitor that supports 800x600, I suppose.
