I still hate the scholar/sage/guru colors as they don't appear much with the background from the FFXI, same for the little kinda bubbles for new threads and such. Maybe keep the color scheme but make them a few shades lighter? The blue and green are really hard to see easily.

You mean that these don't stand out significantly against their background colors? In regards to buttons do you mean the buttons inside posts, out of posts, both?

Way to sneak that Followed Threads link in the Forum drop down. Spent a good three minutes trying to figure out why the Live View was empty. Smiley: mad

So what's the dealio with pictures then? Was the intent ever that the proletariat could upload and access their own photos? Or is that that I can just slap in an IMG tag using some premium user's stable of pix? And why is "pix" in Firefox's spellchecker?

If the idea wasn't to let non-premium users upload and use their own photos, then why have a minimum number of posts before you can use the tag? It's the premium guy who has to upload llama **** and face the consequences.

Sorry if this was addressed upthread; the last I heard it was "we're talking about it" and I haven't followed the thread religiously since then.

Yes for the titles against the background colors in FFXI, they don't stand out at all. And for the buttons, it's those balloon shaped bubbles in the thread "index". The colors really don't stand out on that skin. Is it possible to lighten the colors up, maybe make them a few shades brighter so you don't mess your color scheme but at least make them stand out?

Yeah, they don't really stand out as much as other skins tend to.

I don't see the issue with the balloons though. They seem to be bright enough when you haven't viewed a thread yet.

It's still under discussion. If it ends up being that non premium uploading of pictures is completely disabled, the minimum posts before using image tags will be reduced to 25 posts to match polls or eliminated entirely.

the llama **** issue was the main reason for implementing the 250 limit in the first place, however since that time there has been some rethink regarding file storage costs for images, etc. We'll let everyone know what gets decided in the end.

The quote checkboxes now work in Quick Reply and on comment pages. When you have at least one quote checkbox checked on a page it will add a link in the posting area titled "Quote Checked".

I've made some adjustments to the FFXI forum styling. Things should be a bit clearer now.

OUt of curiosity, what's the reasoning behind forcing users to upload an image? Why not just have image tags work with a URL?

You may need to do a hard refresh (Ctrl+F5) to see the updated styles, as I didn't force a style refresh for this change. The Guru color and buttons on posts should be the most noticeable changes.

One of those actually exists for admins. The reason we don't open that up to users as well is mainly because some websites have a nasty little habit of punishing hotlinking users by switching their image for a really offensive one for any links that leave their site. By forcing upload to here, we can garuntee the images are viewable by people, and ensure that we have a measure of protection in place if someone decides to upload something really offensive. There is historical precident on this site for that very scenario.

Now that its been a while, can we bring back the ratings to the pages instead of just on the posts and the mouse over? Sub-D threads are some of the funnest threads to read and contribute to, but there being no indicator makes it annoying to mouse over every thread just to find something to read.

Live View used to show how many new posts were made while you were in different tabs or the focus wasn't on the page itself, and now it doesn't.

Well, I intentionally made subtle changes. The colors should remain essentially the same, and any changes should be relatively minor, aside from the buttons on posts. Perhaps your monitor settings are a bit off?

Every once in a great while when I click the "goto the newest post" arrow, it doesn't go to the most recent post. It goes to a few posts above it. I'm using IE 9.

Also, if you type words and highlight them, then click the "Link" button to make them a hyper link, it erases the words you had written down and replaces them with the full URL.

Like so:

This (where I've got "Oh HAI Google" higlighted before I hit the link button):

Turns into this:

http://www.google.com
