Hi,

One of the reasons I pay the premium for Zam membership is to avoid the ads.

Now that the powers-that-be have decided that the Wowhead database has priority I am obliged to follow your links to that site to find out what I used to look up on ZAM.

Unfortunately I am then deluged with adverts including an annoying poker one that launches its own browser window.

I can understand that updating the database is a major task and that the prioritisation is necessary but it would be good if you extended the premium benefits to all sites during this period of enforced diversion.

On the bright side the content on Wowhead is excellent. Smiley: smile

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe there is a way to link your Zam account to WoWhead so that you won't get ads. I think if you sign up for a WoWhead account you get the opportunity to do so.

There is a way and it should be in either their or our FAQ somewhere... See the post on tankspot account linkage floating around here (probably on the first page). I'll try to find it in the meantime.

Your ZAM premium membership also applies to Wowhead. All you need to do is link the accounts. Make sure the email address on your Wowhead account matches the email address on your ZAM account. Then, in your Wowhead account, use the menu in the upper right part of the screen to access your settings by clicking on your username. Once on the settings screen, go to the Premium tab and click the button to update your status. It should link the accounts and pull your premium status from your ZAM account, thus disabling ads on Wowhead as well as providing a few other perks on the site. :)

Thanks for all the help. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to like me.

It says "Your Premium status was updated successfully."

But still says "Status Inactive".

I had to create an account using a different user name (Cobra101b) since it said my ZAM one was in use. I used the same email address for both though.

Ah well.

You'll probably just need to refresh your premium status manually to fix the problem. Go to the Account Settings page and click the "Update" button on the Premium tab.

The system now is a bit clunky (ok that's maybe an understatement).

Darqflame can help you fix it.

We have a much better system that will be going into place very soon.
