Would ZAM consider Tapatalk?Follow

#1 Oct 02 2010 at 11:59 AM Rating: Decent
I use Tapatalk on my Droid X for accessing a few other forums and it is a fantastic app. From my experience, it's a easy add-on for the SMF forum software. The app is available for Nokia, Android, Blackberry, and iPhone.

Tapatalk makes it 10x easier to view and post to forums from a hand held device.
A lot more people than you think actual use their smartphones to browse the web, including forums.
It is the best way to browse forums from a mobile device imo.
It would have to be activated by the site administrator if they are interested. I personally think it is a good idea and would heavily consider becoming a premium member of ZAM if I could access forums with ease from my cell phone.
Check it out and let me know what you think though.

Btw, I am not in any way, shape or form affiliated, getting paid for or even trying to advertise this product. It's just that I use it and love it and I am pretty sure that I am not the only one out there that uses their mobile phone to browse forums. If you look into this application and you feel that it is powered by faulty software or if any other red flags go up. Please let me know so that in turn I can stop asking administrators of my favorite forums to support it.
Thanks.
Anyhow if anyone is interested here's their site.

Premium members already have access to the mobile site version of ZAM, the address is m.zam.com I believe. Anyway I have a Droid too and I have no problems viewing the normal site through the browser.

I didn't say that viewing forums on the mobile browser was a problem. I just said that the app makes it a lot easier.
Unless you download the app and try it yourself you won't understand what I am talking about. And if you don't like to browse forums on your Droid then you wouldn't like it anyhow. With or without the Tapatalk app.

We have custom-built everything, so it'd be quite an undertaking to make everything compatible with that. I don't know that our mobile device traffic would justify the time to do it (then again, I'm no decisionmaker, so take that only for what it's worth).

That aside, neat little thing. Thanks for showing me that.

Thanks for at least looking at it. I asked the administrator at MMORPG.com to take a look at it and they gave me a warning and threatened to ban me. SWTOR's forum administrators said the same. They said it seems as if I'm trying to sell the crap or something. It is pretty stupid that the app can't just work with any forum without administrator permission. It really does make forum browsing WAY easier on a smartphone.
