Single post linkshell recruitment threads in XIVFollow

I know that people who come to Alla and create an account for no reason than to post a long-*** recruitment thread are generally frowned upon; we had one yesterday and now we have another one today.

I know this stuff usually doesn't fly; I was wondering if, considering the game isn't even out yet, would it be possible for an admin to nuke/lock these types of threads, or possibly tell them that Alla is not their personal advertising medium? I just figure that if nothing is done about the two we already have, more people may post them under the argument "Well other people did it so I should be able to as well".

Thanks.

I don't see the harm in a recruiting forum going up now; I'd wager it'd get a fair share of action. Any chance of that?

I'll put in a request to see if we can add a recruitment forum

Edit: One thought regarding that would be server forums, assuming the game has specific servers, it might be better to have a "per server" recruitment sticky or something.

It's just me, but I feel like having a single recruitment forum would be preferable. If it's left to a sticky thread in each server forum, then recruiters/applicants will have to continually spam the thread, lest their message fall into obscurity in the middle of it.

People can add (Diablos) or whatever easily enough to their thread title in a general recruiting forum, I think. And this way people can get on it even though we don't have server names.

Bump to see if there's any word on this. I really think a recruitment forum would see a lot of action right now. Any chance of it?

Add me to the list of people who would like to see a recruitment forum. Even though I've had a link in my sig to my FFXIV site for about a year, I'm hesitant to make an actual recruitment post right now.

Would probably just mirror a recruitment forum, too. Specific servers can just be pre-pended with [Wherever] in the post name if people are serious about it. Personally, somewhat apathetic about recruitment posts for new games. Looking back to Aion, they were pretty much all the same, just gussied up advertisements that might not always reflect the actual group environment. Gets even better when they start demanding past game histories or personal essays. :x

I would be ok with you making a post (i have one in my sig too). This is because you are obviously here to stay, have and will continue to contribute, and have "earned" the right. I think Mik is talking about those who create an account solely for the purpose of advertising, and will never come back again.
