"We don't just borrow words; on occasion, English has pursued other languages down alleyways to beat them unconscious and rifle their pockets for new vocabulary." — James D. Nicoll
Mostly for the luls, but i'm sure there's got to be at least one legitimate reason to do so. Not a big deal if you don't feel like fixing it, just thought i'd mention it.

Not really. It'd be like nesting italics or color tags. You can't double-spoiler something.

You used to be able to. If you hovered over the text of the first spoiler tag, it'd show that but not what was in the second nested spoiler tag.
Before, if you hovered over either the far left, or far right blah, it would show just the outside two, and as you moved your cursor over, it'd show one more on each side at a time, until you got to the center, the if you kept going, it'd do just the opposite. But as you can see, it does nothing but spoiler everything up to the first
now.
I stand corrected then. It's really just a gimmick to let you make silly artsy things though.
Mostly, but there definitely could be some practical reasons to use it. Like i said, if it's not fixed, it's not a big deal. Such as if your talking about something that should be spoilered, and while doing so reference something else that should also be spoilered.

Or, you could just do this.
Edit: No spoilers, or spoilers. I don't know why you'd need to partially spoiler something.

Not always.
Blah, blah, first thing here (reference to a to a second thing here) Blah, continue with the first thing, etc
Now you have 3 spoilers, and the first and third are not connected like they should be.
Not sure what you did, but the thread in question http://ffxiv.zam.com/forum.html?forum=5&mid=1277142704223638600&page=1#msg12772275966877915 is now not showing several spoiler tags that used to be there. FYI the thread appeared perfectly normal for me prior to any of this.

I think that's because Allegory never closed his spoiler tag, which I believe was what caused the problem in the first place.
Yeah, they just made tags not work at all if they're not closed. I don't know, i think it'd probably be better to have them end at the end of the post of they're not closed, instead of not working at all, but whatever.

Not sure if the default text when you click the spoiler button is supposed to say test, instead of text
Nothing in this post is spoiled on my computer.
It's not supposed to be afaik. The only thing i spoilered was spoiler test, was which unclosed. Looks like he set unclosed
tags to just disappear. Unless that was unintentional, i'm not sure.
