everything from how smooth the gameplay is, to the graphics, to how fast the game loads up
Of all the things you can say about WoW, these three wouldn't even make on the game's top fifty best features list.
I was naming things that you would notice during the first 30 minutes of gameplay.
Sure you could name awesome things about PvP, Endgame, etc... but a new player wouldn't SEE that until they've invested a serious amount of time into the game.

As someone else said, it is..
A). Character Creation Screen and not actual gameplay.
B). Zoomed *way* in (you wouldn't likely play WoW zoomed in that far; you wouldn't be able to see anything happening around you)
C). Has no background (other than the generic background of character creation), hence it doesn't show some of the awesome things WoW has: Landscaping, and detail in the items like furniture, etc.
Come to think of it, in FFXI...
1). You can't zoom out very far, which means you always get a fairly poor view of what's going on around you during large-scale boss battles.
2). "Landscape" In FFXI in _most_ Areas is pretty.... boring. Tahrongi Canyon? Brown Rock as far as the eye can see. Meriphitaud Mountains? Yup, more brown rock. Castle Oztroja ... wow, sure looks more like a cave than an actual castle to me. Sauromugue Champaign / Buburimu Peninsula? Grey Rock this time. Wow. Japanese sure love rock, don't they? Oh wait, they live on an island. My bad.
Okay, let's go to the other half of the world. Ronfaure "Forest"? Maybe "Ronfaure Plains With a Few Trees". But at least it isn't brown or grey rock. La Thiene Plateau? Huge Open Area with nothing but flat green grass and a few gorges, and some trees thrown in.
You don't get to see any "good" landscape until a select few CoP areas, and then ToAU adds some, and there's a couple OK zones in WotG.
Compare that to places like Terokkar Forest in WoW. Oh, and what do Aerial pictures look like? Go stand on the deck of an Airship in FFXI... a game with such great graphics should give you an awesome view, right? RIGHT!? Errr, nope. Looks like a huge Copy/Paste landscape down below you with small details (like the crags and Jeuno) thrown in.
Meanwhile, get on any flying mount as soon as you get to Outland and fly over Nagrand, Terokkar, and Zangarmarsh and see the awesome detail in the landscape. Or, heck, if you go to Hellfire Peninsula, near the Warp Fields... stand near the edge and look towards Terokkar, you can _plainly_ see Firewing Village a mile away, and you can make out all of the small buildings over there.
And then, in FFXI... see all of that "furniture" and such? It is either:
1). Textured/Pasted onto the wall.
2). An Insurmountable Waist-high Fence (TvTropes).
In WoW:
You can *sit* in the chairs, stand on the tables, jump up on the counters, many decorations are actually in the game world physically and don't look like they are painted on the wall.
As for Jumping... yes, some people mash the spacebar while playing WoW, but I'm seeing that less and less these days. It is sure better, though, than being stopped by a pebble the size of a baseball... lol
