ZAM NETWORK "PROMOTIONS" is absolutely an AD even though you call it something else. Brought to you by row of logos at the bottom is MORE ADS. Sadly, I don't think there is anything you can do (sigh). The old site was so comfortable and homey to many of us. I am not so old that I can't learn to navigate the new site, so my initial shock and anger will probably dissipate over time as I learn to jump the new hoops. But, I will never feel the same and will most likely use other sites, coming back here if it is the only source left. Prior to this change Allas was my FIRST stop. I do actually comprehend why a big-box company would want unification and streamlining of all its pages, and on a cold corporate level I am sure you all think it was the right thing to do. What you didn't think about is that, particularly in the case of EQ (the original) there is little unification and streamlining. A large percentage of gamers find "their" game and stick with it pretty much exclusively. The tweeners who flop from game to game are not paying for premium information sites because they don't have the discretionary cash and they have moved on to the next new game before they ever get deep enough to want detailed information. Folks like me have played the same game...tried others perhaps, but come back because it is what we love. We are more mature, know what we like and have the cash to pay for it. WE DON'T LIKE THIS!

A new issue I've had with the new design.

Apparently according to the response I'm receiving, we are expected to open up our computers to "trusted" sites like Allakhazam to get the new functions to work.

I would like to think that instead of telling users that they need to compromise their security by "trusting" a site, they would take into account that malicious scripts are a common way of system break-ins and not use them in design.

As stated in the other thread: that's simply moronic. Allowing Allakhazam is not the same as allowing its ads, so unless someone puts malicious scripts directly into Allakhazam's site, you're still safe. And once again, you're using an addon which has the sole purpose of disabling the functionality of sites. When sites quit working for you, guess who you have to blame? Hint: It's not the web designers, it's the idiot who's too afraid to allow a single site because he doesn't understand how scripts work.

I still don't see why we can't at least be given the option to use the older skin again via a different prefix. This unified skin is just retarded, and I've voiced my opinion on it back when it was being implemented the first time. Hiding forums so that you have to know where it is ahead of time to be able to find it is stupid. Leaving multiple inches of blank space on the left and right sides of the site is stupid. Having the menus at the top when there's plenty, PLENTY, of blank space on the sides is stupid. I don't even know anymore if I'm going to use allakhazam for ffxiv. I'll probably just try and find another site.

Wouldn't mind the bottom links and sister sites adverts so much if they weren't completely ******* redundant.

We've got a sweet drop-down, multi-frame menu system at the top, saving amazingly large amounts of screen space. Then we've got the completely ridiculous waste of screen space in the middle where we read and write posts. Then we finally come to the bottom and there are a couple of dozen links spread out in an disorderly fashion, with four different logos making a complete fool out of the golden section. Who came up with that massive abuse of space?

And why the hell is there a Zam logo at the bottom as well as the top? Are you guys afraid I'll forget the name of the corporation running this site by the time I scroll all the way down to the very end the page? The pages are indeed long, but come on now.

No one knows why. And apparently no one is going to address it.

They think we'll simply let go and stop talking about it eventually.

They're probably right.

Did someone just break the site? I'm getting weird errors while browsing with the WoW skin on Chrome.
