FFXI: Thread of the MonthFollow

Since FFXI's Player of the Month is dead, I'd like to suggest doing something constructive with that space on the front page.

Each month, one of the FFXI admins can select their favorite thread from any of the FFXI forums. It could be a relatively recent one, or it could be a throwback to an older one from the Legendary Threads archives.

Instead of putting it to a vote, it can just be an arbitrary decision by the admin, either to highlight a particularly productive discussion, or something humorous the community came up with. (For example, from the archives, the infamous Yellow thread.)

This might go a long way to introducing newer members of the community to some of the internal culture we've built up, and unlike Player of the Month, should not devolve into cries of circle jerking and favoritism.

And then in December, we can have a vote for Thread of the Year, like we did last December.

Mostly from the same circle of unimaginative sheep that cry about everything.
