Looks great so far Smiley: thumbsup

I've only added a few books to my Favorites, but I like the searchability of each book, and the layout.
I'll try and write a review for everything I add, seems like something I might enjoy writing in my free time Smiley: smile

Also: Maybe a link to My Books in the drop-down menu like this:

You can also now access ZAM Books by going to your user profile from anywhere your name is linked in threads, or go to the user settings page from the upper right corner of any page, then click View Yourself.

UI change suggestion: let us click on just the heart for "add to favorites" to add it specifically to the "Your Favorites" list while leaving us in the current search.

(The current "add things one by one" method will take abso-fricken-lutely forever for those of us with reasonably-sized book collections.)

Also, is this premium or all users?

Looks to be all users, based on a random sample of one non-premium user.

I tried to order a book, by adding it to my cart, and an error occured and I couldn't get passed that.

Also, why doesn't this show up under the Zam store link on the top left of this page? I didn't see any option there for books, although it was a qui8ck scan of the "select from" drop down, so I may have missed it.

The "Books" link works fine for me, it looks like it's just on the lolFFXIskin. There appears to be only a link to the Zam store.

All three work for me, I just tested them again.

I will let them know of the error. And it's not officially live yet...

Ok, if it's not live, that could explain why the cart never worked.

And now i se the link to Zam.com. It's the Zam icon.

So I set up a favorites list, and I have a few questions.

Is it possible to remove only one book from your favorites list? I couldn't see how and I ended up deleting the whole list and starting over.

I also wrote two reviews of two books, but I didn't see a way to add any "stars," and when you look at the book it still says (0 reviews). How do I rate it?

Thanks! And love the feature, by the way.

Ok, I'm stupid, I figured out the stars. But I have a new problem.

When I look at the My Books tab under my user account, it shows the two reviews I wrote, but when I click on them, both links are broken.

I can read your reviews on the Zam skin. Looks to be a FFXI skin problem again.

Ok, apparently it's supposed to be a zam only skin from what I understand. I am checking into this and will get back to you...

Thank you for all the feedback!

Belkira, I may be PM'ing you for more info.

Some more little features I would like to see, but not sure if they're possible:

When searching for an author, it would be awesome if the books in a series show up in order, but you guys may not have any control over that whatsoever.

When looking at your Favorites list, it would be great if we could change the order. For example, I'm trying to put the series I like in order of first to last, but sometimes it's hard to tell, so I have to go home and look at my book shelf before I can figure it out. It'd be nice if I could just add them all, then go back and put them in order. Edit: Something like the NetFlix list comes to mind, where you can change the numbers yourself.

It would be cool if we could create separate folders to group some books. Like by author, or genre, or series.

Sorry to bombard you. I love this feature, though!!

You can rename your lists too, it's cool.

Allowing us to rename the "My Favorites" to something of our choosing would be cool too. Though I guess I can just delete that list for now, and make a new Favorites folder.

Well, that was the idea with multiple favorites lists; one could have one for each genre, author, or whatever criteria.

Thanks for the feedback!

Kirby pointed that one out to me, but I noticed you can't move something from one list to another. Or even copy it to have it in both lists or something.

ETA: Oh, and Smash had some good ideas about accessability in the Asylum thread about this. Though I realize that it hasn't technically been implemented, so maybe his ideas are already in the works.

Angsty has been pointed to the fact that Smasharoo cannot read. Smiley: tongue

When clicking the link to add to cart, the pop-up window should not have things like the menu bar and navigation buttons hidden. I really hate it when sites pop open a link and remove the back and forward buttons and such. What if I wanted to look around on Amazon after adding that book to my cart?
#26 Sep 10 2009 at 8:42 AM Rating: Excellent
Another issue: If you make too many "favorites" lists, you cannot add things to them from the "Add to Favorites" pull down menue, because it gets too long and interferes with the "Add to Cart" link on the next book. Smiley: frown

ETA: And when you click on the book to see the whole description, the pull down menu for "Add to favorites" disappears before I can get to the end of the list.
