Is the survey only for people that did not purchase premium already? I completed the survey and got the code but when I tried to enter it the site said I already had premium and didn't mention if my subscription date was extended.

Ditto. Even checked My Account page and it still says mine runs out on the 28th of this month. Not that I wasn't going to renew...but a free month is still a free month and I would gladly purchase my years worth after that time.

If I were to hang on to my code until my Premium expires would it still be good to use then, or will you have to do some odd trickery to add the month to my existing Premium?

http://www.zam.com/premium.html is a full list of all our premium features. It sounds like you are an EQ player? Our EQ site has a lot of premium features, such as the advanced item search.
