Just want to toss a suggestion to the sharks in the event that anyone cares or thinks it's an interesting idea.

the rating system is great, very handy for getting bad sock puppets, idiots, gold sellers etc out of site (haha, that may be the dumbest pun i've ever resorted to.)

What i'd *really* love is a system that would allow some sort of voting to lock a thread. maybe something like if enough premium members posted with Smiley: deadhorse the thread would automatically lock.. 10 page debates about "this game is better than that game" and "omg that equipment is not teh uber U n00b" that pop up once every 4-5 days are terribly annoying.

*Shrug* if it's not something anyone else wants, so be it, but I figured I'd toss an idea out there.

if this is implemented, it needs to be premium sage+ with 2k+ posts only, and they need to have to identify themselves in the thread - no anon lockings.

Killer on socks:

Must have 50+ posts to even MAKE a thread. 100+ posts, and 3.01 average karma posts to get scholar.

You know...if this is implemented, I can't imagine how the Asylum will look afterwards...

Sorry, but I don't like that idea...

I see where you are coming from but it could give a small group of people control over an entire forum. I see it being abused fairly easily.

Unless, of course you make the requirements really strict, but then you'd have a hard time getting 10 people to read, much less vote to lock a thread.

I think the current system is fine. The admins are very responsive about locking threads when they are notified of an inappropriate one.
