I like Smiley: cheese.

And for the record, I know you all won't admit it, but I sure as hell do care about my karma. Smiley: grin

Perhaps I should be flattered by all of the attention?

I should clarify something.. I really should.

If someone is camping me, then they are probably camping other people. At the very least, they are capable of camping other people. It is this abuse of the system that can potentially cause a multitude of headaches for the admins. It is because someone is abusing the system that I come forward. I am well aware that I am a lightning rod for idiots, just look at Bhod for the proof thereof.. But if someone is actually abusing the system, shouldn't that be handled?

Or perhaps giving them advice to systematically tear down their forum score is the best path of actively stopping forum system abusers? Here's a hint, admins.. All you have to do is tell me to leave, or ban my account. I promise I won't come back. But choosing favorites is just retarded. Be a fucking admin and ban me if you want me gone.

It isnt that important to me really. I asked Danalog to set me back to 3.00 after the Asylum was outted and people were whining about my "some help with karma thread" which was about a account supposedly useing a rate bot. I asked just to mock them and show that I didnt GARA. Danalog said it would be a pain in his *** to take the time So here I am cursed with this Sage status.

I cant find the direct quote but many moons ago Danalog said that while Karma Kamping was actively discouraged on FFXI and WoW boards it was tolerated in the Asylum due to the nature of the beast.

So if you are posting on the main boards and someone is camping you feel free to report but if you go into the asylum and say something and you get camped either a) deal with it or b) dont post on the asylum.

Also to make it abundantly clear you are not getting made fun of just because you did it once or twice but because of a rather excessive amount of times you have publicly and privately whined about it. You are like the child at school that tattles on everyone for everything. Yes no one likes a karma camper, Im not fond when I get camped (it does happen despite my natural charm) but I will tell you what I fucking hate, a yellow bellied tattle tale that runs to teacher everytime someone does something mean.

Its abundantly clear that every time you get rated down you get all snivelly and run to an admin for help. Do you think the admins are gonna put up with that type of school yard bullsh
it and not earn some sort of contempt for you?

The admins have repeatedly stated that they will not do anything about karma camping unless it is done to a degree that is extreme (and my impression was extreme means dropping from high scholor to no status, or from guru to scholar).

They feel that the karma system is meant to be user moderated...which means if someone is being karma camped it is up to the community in general to fix that. It takes 1 rate of excellent to counteract 1 rate of awful, and if someone is being unfairly rated awful and not a single person rates that excellent, then it is the community that has failed, not the admins.

Regardless of whether or not you think that is fair, or how it should be, that is how it is, and since they are the admins and run the site, it is something that you just have to kinda deal with.

Plus, there is a PM system that you can use to communicate with the admins if you want to avoid the drama that karma threads inevitably cause.

However, given your past posting history, I think you DO care about your personal karma, and that you DO take it very personally. I have not seen a single person talk about karma as much as you.

Often times I just wish you would just admit it. Smiley: grin

No need to bother. I am on a "vacation"

If any of you wander into the other forums I post at, this is water under the bridge now to me. Some will smile in triumph at my passing, others will miss me.

Bhodi, it's really pathetic that you seek to tear down others so much to get your credibility... Seriously, dude, you need to open your mind a little bit. I didnt start any thread to single you out or anything.. I don't get it, but its obvious you just have a thing against me. Whatever it is, know that I will go straight for your throat upon my return.

+1 bhodisattva Defender of Justice

Occassionally I feel the need to take up arms and rally a crusade. Whether it be against the toon that faked stillbirths, Goose and his rampant brown nosery/ratebotting or a halfwit that rampantly denies everything that he is at his core in the hope that it makes it less true and delude himself. Its a good way to kill a boring afternoon.

Feel free to come back, Ill probably still be around and you will probably still be a whiney **** scab (to steal a phrase from Nobby).

I can't believe, after all this time and all your posts, you still act like this. Police rookies stop throwing up at murder scenes after a few weeks on the job, yet you still care about your elitism number on an messageboard changing by, what, 0.01 points?

So let me get this straight. Someone camps your karma so you open a thread whining about it which is a known karma camper magnet. Then you get rated down in that thread so you open another one and get rated down again. So you open yet another one, and another one, and another one.

I seem to be missing the logic behind this theory.

I know I'm begging for ratedowns right now, but I like Lefein. He and I go way back. I have a great deal of respect for his opinions and for the grace with which he debates a point. All this bandwagoning against Lefein is no different than hopping on the "let's hate Katie and Kaolian" bandwagons. At the same time... Lef, aren't you taking this all a bit too seriously? It's the Asylum. The normal laws of the physical universe don't really apply there.

And (not that I necessarily think you are going to) don't accuse me of being part of the CJ conspiracy. I wasn't a Sanctuarian, and apart from the occasional three-post CJ with Nadenu or DSD (both of whom, to be fair, I feel deserve every rate up I give them), I've been left out of the Asylum karmic group hug. I get rated down a LOT in the Asylum. If you want, I'll PM you the last 50 or so posts from my "my posts" page to prove it. And I have many, many fewer posts than you have, so karma DOES still touch me occasionally. But it doesn't bother me. I know what I'm getting myself into when I post in the Asylum. Karma doesn't work in the Asylum, because most people don't CARE about karma in the Asylum. If it did matter, people like the Virus or Shadowrelm wouldn't even post there.

But if you're an Asylumite, part of being there is knowing that karma is a joke. On other boards across this site, it works. In the Asylum, it doesn't. I don't want to see you quit posting there, but if you're going to continue to post you have to be willing to be the target from time to time. In all the Awful ratings I've gotten since I started posting there, have you ever seen me make one single complaint about it? That's the attitude you have to have, and if you don't have a thick enough skin then perhaps the Asylum ISN'T for you. =/

Sabo, you rock man. I totally agree. I t had less to do with my testicular fortitude and more to do with my abhorration for the daily routine.

Refreshed, and in on "the joke", I return a stronger and less moody FFXI kiddie!

Oh, and yes, I do "get it" now. Thank you everybody for the concern. Smiley: lol

Hey Admins, can we get this thread locked? If not, that's cool too. Everyone needs a laugh in their day, be it at my expense or not (^.^) Japanese emote 4tw!
