Because there are a LOT of users on here that don't have 99,999,999,999,999 posts and have read everything on the boards 50 times over.

Frankly people who whinge about topic's being beaten to death would do better to not comment at all and go about their merry way.

In reality what happens is they say "OMFG D34d H0rs3, i'm so filled with knowledge already that i don't need to read this" and rate down the OP with little or no constructive input to the thread. So people who are asking legit questions often get rated down to hell because senior users feel it is their duty to let everyone know that they've had this discussion before in one of their 99,999,999,999,999 previous posts.

90% of the time people ask questions because they want an answer, not some douchbag bagging them for being curious.

So yeah in short please add "dead horse" to the swear filter. It would be funny, at least, don't you think?

The problem is that many users who post dead horse topics are too laxy to scroll down or go to the next page to find a similar topic. If there were a thread purge (especially a quick purge) then you'd have a better argument, but I'm afraid to say that you are in the minority, and in fact an avatar "Smiley: deadhorse" was even created.

/agree with mmo. When you see the same freakin question 3 or 4 times on the same page it shows that the OP obviously hasn't bothered to look for the answer. Alla's has a nifty little forum search feature right ->here<-

BTW whats the [:text:] for the dead horse?

It's a complete waste of space IMHO.

If you don't want to participate, don't bump the thread with dead horse driftwood. You'll find that it will drop off the front page quicker if you don't reply.

The person might get their question answered without getting bagged and the thread will be gone from plain sight a lot quicker.

Everyone wins.

Never heard of this dead horse stuff. I refer to an old and dead topic or a thread referring to common knowledge as oldfish...

Just remove the rating.

If people want they could make a couple of alts and just rate frenzy their posts to get the desired title.

I have my filter set to "Never" because people still quote/comment on sub-default posts. I want to see what the numbnut wrote even if some elitists rated him to hell and back again.

Remove the karma thingy and.. hell, I don't know about the titles. Guru or Scholar, it's pretty much the same.. you get to spit on the ones who can't spit back.

I was actually expecting some Animal Rights Activist nutcase coming to complain about the phrase "dead horse" because it was inhumane and cruelty to animals or something. Now I'm all disapointed.

Heh, you won't find me losing any sleep over it.

Since when did you vouch for "everyone" BTW?

EDIT: Aww I really got told didn't I? Bwahahahahahaha. Hopefully you didn't lose too many brain cells reaching for your rate down button.

Sense of humour {do you have it?}.
