Hello,

I seem to have got a rating of -15.00 on a post in this thread according to my posts summary.

http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/forum.html?forum=3&mid=111662656218233844#1116834514306024319

Surely something is amiss here?

TIA.

EDIT: don't mind me it was obviously deleted by one of the ops as i was ranting about ways to undermine the karma system ^^.

A -15.00 is a nuke, and doesn't affect user karma.

It was a duplicate post. You're welcome.

In case you are wondering how they came up with -15, it's completely arbitrary (it can be -0.01 and still work). However, perhaps a "negative level" system can be used where certain numbers mean different things, like a -6.00 is a duplicate post, -7.00 to -9.00 is for bad but not banworthy posts (the range is used for how bad), and the current -10.00 is used for bans. This would make it easier to track how bad a user has been in the past when a new bad post comes up. Of course all the currently non-banned users' nuked post scores will have to be changed.

Ya, try nuking something in your journal... You give them a -50 (0.o;;) rating. Am I correct in assuming that -15 is the lowest the system goes? I haven't ran any numbers, but I don't think i've ever seen something below -15... When I run them (if actually) I could be proven totally wrong of course lol.

Edit: ran the numbers and came up with -15.12666667 (Smiley: lol) so guess I was wrong... However I still have never seen something go lower then that.

Edit2: Oh wait... with the system displaying decimal points down to the hundreth (iirc my basic math correctly) it should show as -15.13 (if you round up) so I guess I was right? Smiley: confused Smiley: confused Smiley: confused Smiley: motz

It can go below -15.00, but you won't see it because most threads don't get nuked more than once.

-17.00

Here's another weird one. Unrated (0.00)

Don't ask me how spawned rated this 3.15, because I don't know. Alienone started this thread. [black]

So, want to fill me in? lol.

Also, I see about the negative 17 thingy... I suppose if I would have done more math I would have seen it myself, but that does make sense. Thanks.

Edit: Oh I see the other thread about the attack thing... Guess that explains it.

lol, do you really even need to consider it? how often does a thread get nuked more then once? while sure, its possible, but why the hell would a topic get nuked more then once? thats a bit of an overkill if you ask me >.> you only need to kill it once :P lol
