Do I have a stalker or is this a bug?Follow

My posts are all starting at 2.28 rating. And I have 2 from a while ago that started at 1.8. However, I'm not sure if they started like this or if somebody rated them down before I looked at them again.

The 1.8 posts are Here, Here, and Here there are also a bunch of 2.24 posts but those were from having the 1.8 posts still in my average and getting rated up.

I beleive that when I made the 1.8 posts, my karma was at 1.8, but no other posts are below that, so it couldn't have been set there by normal means. I think what might have happened is that my karma was somehow hit with a bug, and then the bug was fixed but I still have those low scored posts.

The first three you mentioned are legitimate ratedowns. The latter three seem to be bugged, and have been corrected.

Agreed, i've suffered a whole heap of rate downs in a thread here /link] and [link=http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/jobs.html?fjob=1&mid=1116235346567806498&num=42]here from people who've obviously got no sense of humour and felt it neccesary to assert their *cough* 'authority' by sending my noob karma rating down the toilet. It's amazing (in the WHM thread) that someone can make such a callous personal remarks and then go and rate down my responses.

i'm not saying there's something fishy going on it's just that when you're a bit new a little bit of knowledge that you might not have (that some WHM's on FFXI are a little uptight) then your karma can get desroyed in a couple of days, even when you're trying to make constructive posts. I feel bullied by other members that's all, I think the karma system is very unfair to newer users and i'm tempted to go and make a new account so i can build karma and go and rate down concerned parties on that thread. Not the best outcome for anyone really. Frankly i'd like to think i'm a bit above doing that but 'stupid is as stupid does right'? The situation that i've been put in eventually results in 'bad karma disease' for all involved.

Note that my karma has dropped an entire .2 of a point from the post above that i made yesterday. I'm all for some sort of cap on rate downs.

Yep, that i knew.

I was thinking more along the lines of a cap on the total number of rate downs per post from all users, say at 3-5 rate downs or so. It would go a long way to prevent new users from having their karma destroyed for one or two posts as I have. You might note that i have attempted to contribute to the thread in question constructively later on but copped another smarmy remark and got every post rated down.

I'm quite aware of that now.

I get the feeling that the people off that thread will follow me around like a bad smell from now on. I guess I should pity those who have nothing better to do with their time than hold a grudge. Time will tell in the end, all in all i'd rather not cancel my account.
