My post is now "unviewable" meaning one of you fancy admin types sh*tcanned it. So, I'm glad you enjoy pissing on people helping the community at large.
Those silly admins, caring more about rules than the community.
Seriously though, you know you're not allowed to do that, so i'm not sure why you're surprised. Of course since they won't actually do anything about it, except nuke it, i've always just ignored it, and posted whatever to help whoever happens to see the post before it gets nuked.
Edited, Sep 6th 2010 1:18am by ThePsychoticOne They haven't nuked the megaupload posts. Just mine. And I was going to keep updating that thread for people to bookmark it as long as I still had bandwidth to spare. And why is t against the rules? It's against the rules to post cracked game downloads. All I did was straight up download the files from the sh*tty SE torrent and repost them in a standard download format.
I reported your post because SE has asked people not to download the game client and patches from external sources. Their request was noted here on ZAM...that's how I knew about it.
There's already a post on the forums about how to work around the patcher. It involves using something like uTorrent/BitTorrent/etc. to open the torrent files SE provides. Then you close the patcher and let the other torrent client manage the download. The difference between that method and your method is that the source remains the same whether you use the patcher or the third party torrent client, whereas your method raises the potential down the line for abuse.
I'm sure your files were secure and safe, but it's a bad practice to get people into the habit of downloading their game patches from unsanctioned sources. It would be just a matter of time before someone downloaded something that someone had altered, ends up with a virus/keylogger, loses their account, and then blames SE for the catastrophe.
The admins were just doing their jobs. When SE says don't do it, ZAM can't allow posts to remain in place that enable people to do what SE has said not to do.
