I think it's funny how Al Gore is going on and on about Global Warming and saying it's true. This is coming from the same man who says he invented the Internet. John Coleman, founder of the Weather Channel also states that
Global Warming is the biggest scam in history There were some private LANS (local area networks), there was a much larger network that was confined to major educational institutions, and one or more confined to Defense institutions. The internet as the USA knows it today didn't exist. Al Gore was a pivotal mover, if not
the pivotal mover, in the government that got the bill written, sponsored and passed to allow anyone from the public access to the nationwide university computer network, AND to permit advertising and commercial activity on it. Prior to this bill, "The Internet" barely existed in the US, after this bill, it rapidly expanded and grew exponentially.
The phrase has a word wrong: it should be "he was
responsible for", not "he
invented the". If you want to be pedantic, it could be: "Al Gore was the man on the spot who was responsible for launching the Internet in it's present form."
