Let me get this straight...

They move all the crap from the "no rules apply" forum to the "special posters" forum to prevent the original poster from suiciding after his karma rating implodes.

But...

What's to stop us from making his karma rating implode because we're tired of =4 posts being moved here?

By moving the thread to save the original poster, you are in fact causing his demise.

Isn't that.. ironic?

Less talky, more rate-downy.

I would say this is a cornerstone of the OOT's new policy.

If it has "(was forum=4)" at the end of it, it will be rated down and spammed in.

About as ironic as your "$1/month is fine, but $12/year isn't" was Smiley: laugh

And that's different from other threads how?

It's not about the content of the thread. It's about the fact that the Asylum is just a different OOT forum, and it pisses people here off when threads get moved here just because the OP isn't one of the Asylum "in-crowd."

That's not the reason. And the same thing happens in the asylum, blame the admins. It works both ways. The asylum gets garbage they shouldn't just like the oot does. Personally I don't think any threads should get moved except the ones made in game forums and then it's only because people ***** to the admins about them in the first place. I say let the filters do their jobs and the poor souls who post in the wrong forum deserve any consequence that comes their way.

Simple. We don't rate down the other threads.

$1 A MONTH FOR THE FULL VERSION, NOT $12 A YEAR FOR THE LITE VERSION!

Sheesh. Smiley: rolleyes

And no, this is more ironic.

Everyone else thought you meant $1/month for the same thing I'd said $12/year for, too. Smiley: laugh

The irony is, that Kao most likely moved this thread here to save the OP a huge Karma bombing. Assuming that the OP is NOT a sock (the article isn't sock-worthy), the low post count leads us to believe that it is a new poster who simply wanted to share an article they found interesting.

If it was a poster who knew their way around the different forums a little better, I would probably have to agree about them taking their licks. To anyone who is just joining us, the presence of two forums that are for non-game related discussions and marked as out of topic, is confusing. I feel bad for the OP, that this is how they were basically welcomed to Alla and the OoT.

I also agree about just not moving threads between these 2 forums. It really only helps fuel the resentment many feel over the repeated action. I'm not much of a "Miss Mary Sunshine-whycan'twealljustgetalong" person, but I really do wish that common ground could be found, as both boards each have their own merits.
