Computer died, Need Advice on a fix and New PCFollow

I have played ffxi on and off since rise of Zilart and started on a ps2. Years after I upgraded to the 360 and last year I played for the first time on my pc and I loved it. It was a e machine so it wasn't that great but the improvement to the graphics and resolution was great after playing on consoles my whole ffxi life. That computer has died I believe, the issue is it will cut off shortly after loading the desktop, I wiped my hard drive and loaded Linux to test and I still have the same cutting off issue so I'm unable to use the pc and that just sucks

So now I'm looking for a new pc to hold me over till I buy a new pc and I think I found one for a great price, but I'm not to knowledgeable about parts and how well they perform.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1416408

Will this pc be able to run FFXI at high settings even during a high traffic area or at least good settings with high fps. Please help and thank you for your time

Well, it's a low end AMD processor based PC. It uses pretty much bottom end components except for the ram and arguably the processor. That also doesn't include a hard drive, which you will need to add to that price (or an OS for that matter) That being said, for what it is, it's a decent price. WIll it play games? probably. WIll it play them well on medium or higher settings? probably not. Is there much upgradability there? no. Also, that's for an order of parts to make a computer out of. It most likely won't come pre-assembled. Depending on your assembly skill level that might be an issue.

ffxi is old enough that it might run decently. It could certanly do with a better video card.

If all you're interested in playing is FFXI, that machine will be fine. The game is eleven years old, there are cell phones with more processing power than is required to run FFXI. You won't be able to play newer games on max settings, but older stuff shouldn't be an issue.

oh ok, the only reason i ask is i read how FFXI is so picky with video cards and such, also heard about a fps limit some where. I just want to play this game with great settings and watch the enviroment flow around me. I can understand some town/AH/Homepoint lag but i dont want to lag during a event with 6-18 people

Im very thankful for all your time and responces ^^

Not per se, this machine just won't make full use of it.
