FF XI Gampad AnnoyanceFollow

I am playing FFXI with a Logictech wireless gamepad. Everything works except character movement is very choppy. No problem on FFXIV. Running config helps a little but not much. Gamepad is about 6 mo old

Can you describe what you mean by "choppy"?

It could be the multi core issue that a lot of folks have with the game - but I don't want to give you the steps to correct that without confirming what exactly choppy means.

Character animation is erratic and moves slowly in spurts. No trouble with my wired xbox controller or playing FFXIV. I have no problem in the config.

Have you tried running Logitech's pairing tool? Calibration? Might help.

What model is it, the RumblepadII?

Edit and sorry for the.. Necropost? It's really been a month since I asked that question? wow.

Unplug any USB devices (including gamepad) and see if it fixes.

FFXI can do this due to some weird USB issues: http://www.bluegartr.com/threads/50821-Windowed-game-lag-edit-USB-Devices-FIX-INSIDE

I am thinking the problem is the F710 gamepad. I reloaded the OS and at first couldn't even get my comp to acknowledge the gamepad. Apparently there is a trick to get the receiver to acquire the gamepad. The older rumblepad II's have a button on the receiver for the purpose and are less prone to interference.
