I am currently looking at tablet PC's, and I am a bit overwhelmed. To keep it basic, I have two questions.
Can tablets run FFXI?
aaand... Which tablet (non iPad) is the current best model, or is there a new model coming soon that I should wait for? I like the Android operating system, but I am keeping my mind open.

If they can play FFXI at all, it would most likely have to be a Windows based model, so Android would be out. Beyond that you'd have to look at their specs and see if they can handle FFXI.

To answer your question I need to know what do you want to do on your tablet?
It is the same as buying a computer what do you need/want to do? What is your budget?
As for FFXI running on a tablet you would need to have a tablet running a PC operating system. The only one I know of currently that does that is an asus ep121. It runs on a full version of windows 7. The processor is an i5 so you are good there Ram is 4 gig so still good. The problem is it uses integrated Intel video. I have no idea if the video will run FFXI.

Thank you for your replies. I am a little saddened that Android doesn't have a feature to run windows programs (yet). I am mostly looking at it for light entertainment. Internet/books/games/etc. I think the Xoom is my best choice after doing a lot of research, and I will just have to limit myself to my PC for FFXI. I'm going up to play with them soon and see if my plans change.

Used to be there was a problem with FFXI and Intel integrated chips. I don't know if that is still the case or not as I don't play FFXI.
